Great to explore, and the surrounding views are spectacular. The piece de resistance is of course the fantastically preserved theatre bu there are other sights worthy of note.
Public transport does not go here, but you may be able to get a tour from your hotel if it is the summer season. Alternatively, you can book a private tour.
I went with Unser-Tour and visited both Aspendos and Perge in the same day. Beautiful

One of the best preserved theater's in the world. So much of history to see, learn and experience. There is hike behind the theater which will take you to the top of the hill from where you can get the aerial view of the theater which simply amazing. There are some awesome picture points as well. Better to get a guide inside the theater to understand more about the theater and the history behind it .

Yesterday we thought the best amphitheatre was in Taormina (Sicily)- Aspendos beats it. Aspendos theatre has been authentically reconstructed and is in use today.
The other parts of the site haven't been reconstructed and you will need to use your imagination.
It's worth going out of your way to visit here - if you're interested. Climbing theatre hill (part of the ruins) gives you a different perspective of the theatre from above, but not one you need to put yourself out for especially in the heat.

This is the best, almost complete, ancient theatre that I have ever visited. It really is well worth a visit. Could not believe that I was there for almost two hours.

Well, I had this place to myself. to wander around and barely anyone there. It's the end of holiday time and only a few bus loads leaving when i was arriving and again when I was leaving, What joy to have this huge place to myself, no stranger in my photos and the silence of this place was wonderful. Excellent to be free to take in the atmosphere too. Take your lunch and water so you are not rushing around.

It looks like most people only visit the theater, then leave. I think that is a big mistake, because it really pays to climb the goat track to the top of the hill (where you can look down into the Aspendos Theater), then continue all the way around to see the Basilica, remains of an agora and the aqueduct. There's no one there, so great photo opportunities ! It is not an easy track, with loose gravel & rocks, but I really enjoyed it. All up it will take only a solid hour, and it will be a better experience if you do it with a guide to explain it all.
PS When you make the extra stop at the bottom of the aqueduct (a bit further by car), you can actually climb up and then up the stairs right to the top of them. A little bit adventurous, but you will be rewarded with a spectacular view !

This requires a modicum of fitness as it is an uhill climb over very stony and uneven path. They are ruins in the true sense as nothing is complete. The aquaducts are impressive from an engineering perspective.
