We road the lift to top and down into the park on the other side. Beautiful view even with smog. Lots of beautiful walkways and trees. The view at the top nice. Don't go to the top of the tower.

Qingdao TV Tower is very nice. You get to the top with elevator and the views are great. You can enjoy 360 degrees of views while being on the top of the city.

The Qingdao TV Tower was built in the 90s, but isn't very well maintained. Inside, lots of panels had peeling paint, and things were generally falling apart. Ticket prices were at 100 RMB per person.
However, the staff were really knowledgeable about the city, history of the city, and other local attractions and food.
Staff (5/5): Nice, polite, cheerful, and very helpful.
View (5/5): The TV Tower offered an incredible 360degree view of the city. As a hobby photographer, this was amazing!
Price (2/5): 100 RMB a ticket is a bit of a stretch for an old TV Tower...
Maintainance (2/5): Things are falling apart. Not very clean. Washrooms on the first floor were... Kind of nasty...

This is a great TV tower too)) You can see it from very far away. Like with any TV towers in China, on the upper 200th floor or so you can find a revolving restaurant that serves first-class meals for tourists or locals, if you have enough to dine there. Then from the observatory deck, you can find yourself a grandview of the city in the distance, with mountains to the northeast and ocean in the west.

this is one of Qingdao's least known restaurant for travellers - set high in Julin Park the restaurant at the top has spectacular 360 degree views of the city - - the food is a variety of buffet style - set price can include beer when I was there some time ago - a real value experience in Qingdao - note in very windy weather the tower restaurant really swings rather a lot

also nearby in old town explore the underground tunnels - for another review

As an amateur photographer, this place allowed me to get great shots of the city and that's all you can ask for. The inside of the tower between the third and first floors were vain attempts to get tourists to by stuff. They even try to sell you a picture of you pretending to be in a CCTV studio but that wasn't very impressive. The inside of the tower has a musty smell so be aware of that but the views are worth the taxi ride up. Apparently this place is close to Zhanshan Temple but I wish I had known that sooner.

I stayed at a hotel opposite the No.1 Bathing Beach. As part of my `spartan' morning exercise regime, I woke up at 5.30 am, took my stroll to Zhongshan Park which was diagonally opposite my hotel. While at the park, I saw the cable car that went up to the TV Tower but it was not in operation that early morning so I decided to climb up from a flight of stairs near Zhongshan Park.

It was quite cold in the morning and I was panting heavily when I reached the summit but it was not a difficult climb. What attracted me was the pulsating music from a group of locals who were having their morning aerobic exercise at the open space near the tower. The panoramic view from here was spectacular but the weather was misty then and the view were obscured by the smog.

There were few scenic sites on the summit where the tower was located. I particularly like the Environmental Sculpture Park where it showcases miniature TV towers sculptures around the world and Qingdao TV Tower is the 3rd tallest TV steel tower in the world and the first of its kinds in China. There is also the Olympic Hall but it was closed that morning and access to the Tower ball room was not possible.

From the description on the billboard, I understand that the Qingdao TV Tower is 348 m tall with a 360 degree revolving dining hall and the panoramic view at the dining hall is awesome. The Tower has multi-function both for TV viewing transmission and entertainment.

Qingdao was a primitive fishing village before the Germans outrageously invaded and occupied it. The German imperialists transformed the landscape of Qingdao into a colony studded with many German architectural buildings - the German Prison, the Huashilou in Badaguan scenic area, the St Michael Catholic Church, the Protestant Church, the No.1Bathing Beach and many other buildings around the old Qingdao were built by the Germans. It was then a humiliation for a country with 5000 years of civilization to kowtow to foreign influence when the central culture of the Middle Kingdom once dominated the world.

The historic lesson is that China must always open her door and should not live behind iron curtains and contented with what she had. There is no room for stagnation in this ever evolving world. The TV Tower in Qingdao is an iconic structure for China to be part of the world in pursuit of one dream - to be among the League of modern nations.

From the TV Tower, you can also walk to the Zhanshan Temple, the Qingdao Botanical Garden and the German Mire Cellar.

Due to a lack of any extremely tall buildings in town, the idea of a view from here has been on my mind for a long time now but unfortunately the tower is currently closed with no sign of reopening again soon.

There is a huge park that leads you up towards the tower at the top. Sure you get a nice view of the city from here but it is disappointing to find the tower has been closed for over a year without any plans to reopen it. You have been warned.

Probably the best attraction I went to in Qingdao.

It's a huge park with some great sight, scenery and flower arrangements.

Coincidently I arrived there just before sunset so I raced it up to the TV tower to get a good view. If you're not athletic, or quite simply can't be bothered, you can take a cable car/ski lift up to the top.

The view of the sun setting behind the old town was very very special. I'd definitely recommend getting there just before, or waiting for dusk. It truly is spectacular.
