Once in a life time experience
Okt 2020 • Keluarga
I can promise you this: you will not see art this small made by any other artist/ philosopher.

I have traveled to different countries and seen what artist can do with a grain of rice in china...etc. This Ukrainian philosopher and artist Mykola Syadristy goes waaaay smaller than that, the width of a human hair size or a grain of sand split in the middle. The cherry on the top was meeting the 83 years old philosopher himself, chatted with him and was happy to orthography one of his books for my little girl.

amazing place
Mar 2020 • Sendiri
I didn’t expect anything good from that museum… and I was wrong! It was amazing and very informative. I would totally recommend everyone to visit. I also have some additional recommendations for Kiev visit like: Mama manana restaurant and Stay in Kiev travel agency. These guys from agency are so interesting! I booked a tour to Strategic Missile Force Base, but they also have an opportunity to drive the tank or shoot the Kalashnikov or even Chernobyl visit. Probably I would try one more from them…

A museum of the very small
Feb 2020
Here one can enter a small room with space age designs and look at the artworks through microscopes. There one might see a rose placed inside a human hair hollowed and polished like glass. Or perhaps a 3mm long model ship, or a caravan of golden camels passing through the eye of a needle? There you may see a chess set smaller than the head of the pin on which it sits and a flea shod with minute golden horseshoes. Photography is not permitted, but due to the miniscule scale of the exhibits, not much would be seen anyway.

Microminatures Exhibition
Okt 2019 • Pasangan
This place is just amazing, it’s a very small exhibition and can be easily completed within 15-20 minutes but it’s worth it.
It only cost 60UAH which is about £1.86 per person to enter. No pictures or video filming allowed and they’re very strict on it.
There’s micro-miniature objects all around the museum, ranging from chessboards to boats to drawings.
It’s a little difficult to find but it’s inside the lavra ground, round the back of the bell tower. Definitely worth a look.

Unique exhibition
Okt 2019
This miniature museum is located at the famous Kiev-Pecherska Lavra complex. Maybe it sounds uninviting, but please DO pay a couple of bucks to enter it.
This CANNOT be seen in many places in entire world and it'll consume only around 15 min of your time.
There are 13 displays if I remember correctly, but all of them are simply astonishing and make you wonder how he did that. There's an explanation beside each display you're watching through a lens and it's simply amazing, a must see.

The art of splitting hairs
Okt 2019
I visited this museum as part of a tout of Lavra Monastery, in the grounds of which this museum is located. You go around a set of exhibits, looking though microscope tubes to see the detailed miniatures, such a the word peace, in several languages, written on a hair split lengthwise (small stools are provided for children to stand on and look down the tubes). So how did the artist, a once top level boxer, get started on this? And once started, ok, quite a feat to write on hairs or build a 3mm golden ship (and how on earth did he make a chess set with golden pieces that fits on the head of a pin?) but the idea to put golden horseshoes on a real flea? I hope your curiosity is not sufficiently piqued not to baulk at the entrance price...

Miniature art museum

Omg. One of the most amazing art museums I have ever gone it. It's got English descriptions next to the art piece. And occasionally the artist is there for you to meet. Which he was when we were there.

Worth a look
Okt 2019 • Teman
It costs like £2 or something to get in and takes about 15-20 mins to go round. But it’s worth checking out. Really unique and interesting little museum. Seeing a model chessboard on a pin head was my favourite.

A bit of a rip off, all done in less than 5-10min
Sep 2019
Come to see inside sure. But the cost is too much by Ukrainian standard to what is just 1 room with about 10 microscopes. A real rip off

Fascinating museum
Sep 2019
This is a very quick museum, we were done in 10 minutes, but it is definitely worth visiting.

Tiny detailed pieces of art which are viewed through a microscope. Highlights include a tiny rose, a flea wearing golden shoes and the ship. The descriptions for each piece are shown in English as well.

However, it was disappointing that some pieces shown on the posters advertising this museum (such as the camel and pyramids) were not actually in this museum, which I felt was misleading.

Also you cannot buy a ticket for this at the main entrance (even though the price is shown on the list). You need to buy a ticket in the museum itself, and they probably won't have change, which is a bit frustrating.
