The Haiphong Road Temporary Cooked Food Hawker Bazaar is situated under and beside the Kowloon Park Drive Ramp and is most easily accessible from Haiphong Road. This is a fairly common wet market and cooked food centre in a somewhat unique location in TST.

You'll see stalls selling flowers, vegetables, fruits as well as butchers and the likes. There is also a typical cooked food area with small outfits selling cheap eats in the cooked food section. Altogether, you can find market buildings with very similar setup to this throughout Hong Kong districts. Have a walk through and a brief look if in the area and interested.

I love eating in the hidden food market, I always go every time I visit Hong Kong. It looks dingy but the food is great. The beef ball hofun and HK milk tea are my favourite

This place is a 5 minute walk from Tsim Sha Tsui on the red line. When you get out of the station walk through Kowloon park and you’ll find it easily. Look for a grubby looking area and flower sellers then look up and you see the sign for the temporary market. Walk through and you’ll be surprised how grubby it really is. However you are in the original Hong Kong food selling area to locals and business people alike.

I sat next to a business man who told me he’d been coming there for 10 years. He looked sad when he said it would soon be modernised and take 14 months.

No more grubby plastic stalls probably no more great service and great home cooked Hong Kong food either. They may even put a Starbucks and a McDonald’s in its place.

If you want to see food history before the same old new stuff comes along I’d get down there pretty quickly.

It was a pleasure to dine in this little dive of a place which if you are wondering By the way the food is cooked perfectly and I had no problems afterwards!

Cooked pork with rice and a fried egg was tasty the egg can be mixed with the rice and the yoke melts in with the rice and pork when mixed. I’ll go back while in Hong Kong.....probably tomorrow and the next day.

The Haiphong Road Temporary Market is not off the beaten track, it is literally hidden before your eyes. I've been into the market portion several times as well as walked on this section of Haiphong many times in my visits to Hong Kong but never knew of the hidden treasure further in. The market section has mostly fresh flowers and produce. If you enter from Haiphong Rd you need to wind past these stalls to get to the food vendors. Another option is to enter from the south, via Fuk Tak Temple which will deposit directly into the food court. In this food court is multiple miniature restaurants with (mostly) shared tables and stools. You have a wide variety of Chinese food to choose from and it appears that some stalls specialize in certain foods or preparations. You won't find very many tourists here. We encountered locals as well as businessmen in suit and tie. Since we only ate from one vendor I cannot comment on the wealth of other offerings. Haiphong Road Temporary Market is in direct contradiction to the fancy malls and their food courts just steps away. Even if you don't choose to eat here I highly recommend you visit to get a true local flavor of Hong Kong life that is right smack in TST. It wouldn't be hard to see in the future that this plot of land will be sold off to the highest bidder and developed into some multi-story building, therefore, taking away another vestige of Hong Kong history.

This is where the locals eat and we went here for lunch. It was great! The food was some of the best we had during our stay. Don't let the look fool you. The food was good and the people very kind.

One needs to have breakfast or lunch or tea here. French toast with local milk tea. Beef ball noodles with lots of chili and an ice lemon tea. This is where one should be for local flavor. I came here when I was a kid with my mom, now my mom has passed and I come here alone and with friends. Love it. Highly recommended for tourists. This is local food, not those served in restaurants inside a mall or in hotels.

I had my 3 morning Breakfasts here with the locals. The 1st stall I went, the proprietor greeted me & asked what I wanted. When my orders were a bit strange he could not understand me & I kept on repeating. So much so he asked me to stop repeating. What I wanted was half boiled eggs & I kept repeating, In the end, the eggs came out hard boiled. So as not to displease him, I ate the eggs. I also ordered "Kaya" ," Butter" , Toast Bread & Kopi Orr " which he could also not comprehend. I didnt know here in Hong Kong, they pronounced "toast" as "toast seeee" , Kaya as Kaying & Kopi Orr was " Kar Fey". He was at first agitated but once he knew where I was from, we became friends & exchanged some cross cultural differences.
