We found this place very interesting. So many different stores some selling similar things so walk around and check them all out first. Some stores staff were also not as friendly as others so that also may impact on where you buy your items.
Enjoy your time there.

This is a short street having shops of stationeries and toys near Dongdaemun Station.
Good to take a look and buy some.
- The item you're interested might be cheap in other shops. So, I recommend you to take a look first.
- You can have decent ones for 3,000 ~ 10,000 won.
- There are street food stalls and it's a good place for tourists as well.

The street was formed as early as the 1960s. There are only two short blocks, 150 to 200 meters long with over 100 stationery and toy stores on both sides of the street. Korean toys brand (e.g. Oxford Blocks) and imported toys (e.g. LEGO, PLAYMOBIL) are all available there. The average price is 20%-30% cheaper than the market price. Although it was claimed as whole sale market, most of the product are for retail and clearly priced. If there is no price, customers can go to scan Barcode to see the price. It is important to note that this street is open daily from 8 am to 7 pm and is closed on Sundays and Korean holidays.

If you love cute stationery items, you'd go crazy here (as I did ha ha). Loads of cutesy Korean items that you would want and you can also give them out as souveniers to your friends and family. Easily accessible via Subway. Stop at Dongdaemun station and take Exit 4. Walk for about 100 m until you find Dokil Pharmacy and turn right at the street. Recommend to first walk down the street to check out the many many many items, and later make your way back up for purchase.

Toy glorious toy! This street is filed with so many toys! Your kids will go crazy here! Along the streets there are also plenty of stationary shops. But my shopping experience was badly affected by the weather because it was very hot. There isn’t much shelter along the streets so be prepared. Bring some ice water for your kids and a cap too.

The Stationery and Toy Shop Street is located around Dongdaemun and the easiest way to get here is through the subway (train). We were staying in the hotel in Myeongdong and so we took the subway here (4 stations and all within 20mins).
Upon arrival at Dongdaemum Station, look for Exit 4. Once getting out from there, walk ahead and you will see a bus stop and after passing it (i.e. the 2nd street from the station entrance), turn right and there you go, the Stationery and Toy Shop street! (all within 5mins)
We reached there at about 9.40am and apparently many shops were just opened (though quite a number of them were still closed or doing stocks loading and replenishment). Located along a narrow road where shops were on both sides of the road, there is a long stretch of shops (think over 60 in number or more) that sell all stationery and toy products. You name it, they will have it. But most are selling"me too" (similar) products.
Children in particular will definitely love here and will keep them occupied as they browse through the latest or the vintage toys. Prices were generally lower (as the shops were mostly wholesalers) compared to elsewhere and at some shops, they were also offering promotions/special discounts when we were there.
If you walk further down the street, there are also shops selling household and kitchenware, gardening or lifestyle products (i.e. shoes, clothings etc) and seemed besides children, adults' needs were also catered for. Towards the end of the street, there were a few eateries/cafes as well.
When we were there, it was very warm and sunny and so do remember to bring an umbrella/hat and drinking water to keep cool (though quite a number of shops were airconditioned) as there were apparently opened and no shelter.
We spent about 2 hours there, grabbing up some stationery items and toys before walking around the area.
This is a good to visit place especially if you are bringing your children along the trip.

the entire stretch starts with toys, stationery, followed by pets, fishes, kids shoes etc. my kids enjoyed the pets section most, there were turtles, parrots, hamsters, rabbits etc.
I went in winter, it was a nice and cool stroll. do note that the stretch is not sheltered, so be prepared for the inconvenience if it rains or if the weather is hot.
