the hamami is supposed to be one of the oldest and best in the asiatic side.
me and my friend tried to call many times during the day to see times and to book a massage in case.
when finally someone answered the phone they said that the hamam closes at 5pm, we arrived at 3.55pm and the hamam was already closed.
luckly the kind men working at the takeaway next door suggest us another hamam called cinili and we had a wonderfull experience there.

Beylerbeyi Hamami built in 1778 is one of the few remaining houses served as Turkish Hamam (bath). The house once belonged like the entire surrounding to the complex donated for the nearby mosque of Sultan Abdulhamid from the 18th century. It was built for the mother of the sultan. Such mosques (selatin) were built from the private fortune of the sultan, and sufficient capital and land was donated for the operation. In the given case this land covers the whole area from the mosque to the Beylerbeyi Palace about 500 m away. The reason why the Turkish people built hamams before building a mosque was that all workers occupied for the construction of the temple should always be clean in religious sense.

The bath did not change much during the last 60 years, but the clients. Once almost all people of the area used to visit it, because they had no private facilities in their homes. Now, people go there for pleasure. The bath room is covered with white marble, other rooms are wooden like the entire building.

To visit it, you must observe different opening times for males and females. The best of Turkish baths is rubbing your skin with a sort of glove after which you feel like a new born kid.

This premise is a very old Turkish Hamam (Bath) that I have used its facilities more then half a century ago. Nothing much changed since!

From the aged people who scrub you down, traditional gender segregation and opening hours to the red and white towels drying over the rafters this is a Turkish Hamam in the old style. The decor has seen better days but the people who run it are polite, friendly and helpful. Men's Hamam is 20TL plus a tip for the person who scrubs you down (I gave an extra 20TL and he seemed very pleased). If you want a sterile, state of the art Hamam then don't go here! If you want an experience then give it a try!
