Tram to beyazit. Take bus 37Y opposite the tram stn to fatih. You can ask the bus driver to alert you on your stop. Short walk uphill to fatih mosque and tomb. Alot of benches and fountains in the mosque courtyard for you to sit and take everything in. Best to visit on wednesday as you can walk down the huge wednesday market that sells almost everything at a much cheaper price than any bazaar.

Great Çami or mosque located in the heart of istanbul. Architectural beauty noticed in its design. Enjoy watching the walls and pray in. Lady area when enter on both sides.

This mosque offers traditional Ottoman design, done in a new contemporary way. The stencils printed on the walls and inside ceilings offer the same look as the carved marble and terracotta/Gypsum made in other older mosques. The mosque carpet is thick and is freshened with incense. I did my wudu in the mosque, where they provide paper towels to dry up. Nice condition all around.

A Must See!

This is a must see in Istanbul. For Muslims, the best way is to come before prayer time and do the prayer inside. That would give you a full experience with the place and the rituals.
Non Muslims can enter the gate of the prayer hall and take a look or photos, even during prayer time. Put your shoes outside the hall and get a glimpse of the mosque as the prayer is going on. Modest clothing advised.

This mosque complex is a must see for all visitors to Istanbul. the very name of the city stems from the first Sultan of Istanbul who took Constantinople in 1453. The Mosque is absolutely beautiful. It's huge and beautifully ornamented. In the garden you will find the tomb of Sultan Mehmet.
