Can go for a half day tour to this colourful area. Have a few nice cafe around , can take some nice photo but don’t expect the colours is outstanding. All the photo you see on google is after filter and become WOW factor. Make sure you wear a very good walking shoe.

Highly recommend to everyone. Amazing instagrammic area in a nice neighborhood with very kind people and many cats around!
Must visit is the colorful houses and the incir agaci kahveci for the best photos!!

Cute, quaint little village. Came here after daughter seen it on TikTok. Quite small so only took an hour or so to get around.
Highly recommend a little place called Balat Hanimeli cafe (isn’t listed on Trip Advisor). Stopped here for light lunch and it was amazing.

This is such a vibrant and unique neighborhood! It’s totally worth the stop with its colorful corky houses and interesting history. Allow yourself to meander a bit thru the narrow roads, it’s a place full of small surprises.
Bottom line: a photographer’s dream.

The Balat-Fener area of Istanbul is colorful, crowded, full of small cafes, restaurants, patisseries, ice cream parlors and shops selling all kind of things, all crowded on the sides of narrow, cobble stones streets. It is different, it is pleasant, fun, colorful and makes for a very enjoyable experience.

The Fener-Balat area is a must visit area if you’re in Istanbul. Lots of lane ways to wander down - all full of life, colour, intrigue, and food galore!
Lots of quirky cafes and great street art. Has a definite buzz and is away from the packed tourist areas of Galata and Süleymaniye.

It was raining when I visited and had to do it in fast pace but the area is magical. worth the visit !

Go to Erdogan’In We loved Balat but being Scottish a bit surprised to find nowhere to buy alcohol! Then we found this place. Sells beer and raki. The food is traditional Turkish - you go to the kitchen to choose mezes, kofte etc Efes crates outside pulled us in

I highly recommend to use the bus and then walk couple of minutes! Public transportation is so good and cheap at Istanbul so you don’t need to use a taxi for my opinion! Walking also in this neighborhood is amazing!

Not sure about a photographer, but while we were on tour, we did see a wedding couple getting their pictures taken against some pretty colorful backgrounds, and they appeared to have a professional photographer with them. Sorry, but I do not have a more definitive answer than this.

Самый быстрый маршрут от Гранбазара доехать на трамвае до пристани Еминеню, там пересесть на автобус 90,99А,36СЕ,44В,48Е,99 и доехать до остановки Балат (время дороги не больше 15-20 минут занимает). Либо можно пройтись пешком от Грандбазара минут 40-45.
