Visit at the same time as Tran Quoc Pagoda as only 5 minutes walk away. We arrived at the pagoda and it was closed for lunch so walked to this temple. Worth visiting and was good to see. There is a small entrance fee to get in.

Very peaceful temple near a busy intersection but you forget all about that as soon as you enter. There a great bronze statue right inside the temple of Tran Vu deity which is surprising.
Well worth the visit and also take the time to walk to the north alongside the lake to see the Tran quoc pagoda.

It is said that this is one of the four temples that worship the gods and goddesses who were protectors of the Citadel.
You do have to pay entrance fee when coming here but it's rather cheap.
The most impressive aspect of the temple is probably the three-way gate with many patterns and images typical of ancient architecture.
Inside, there are worship house, alters and lots of trees. It's a kind of place that you would feel peaceful.
Overall, it is a really nice ancient temple to spend some time relaxing.

Well maintained ancient temple in Hanoi. One of the attractions in the Hop-on Hop Off bus plan and one can also go via Grab.

A must visit. Top 3 most beautiful temple in Hanoi. It has a very interesting antiques shop in the back of the temple.

A modest looking temple from outside but beautiful on the inside, with a 4m tall bronze statue inside the temple.
Lots of pretty statues on the courtyard and cost 30,000 VND (£1) definitely worth stopping by on the way past.
I would even make the trip just to see it!

I visited here during a recent trip to Hanoi. I have visited quite a few temples in SE Asia and this one was nice but not the most memorable. The history of the place is interesting and the decorations are very nice. If you have time, I would stop here or if you have not had the chance to visit temples in Vietnam, I would definitely go.

We visited this temple whilst using the Hop on Hop off bus. Easy to find and worth a visit if you are in the area. Small entrance fee. Quite small so will only take you 20 minutes or so to see. They also have a small art shop. We bought a great picture whilst we were there.

Worth visiting if you're in the west of Hanoi. It is a taoist temple and it is nice and peaceful and in good condition. The entrance ticket is cheap (10k vnd) and it does not take too long to visit it.

Your list is a very good itinerary for Hanoi, but you should not miss Hoa Lo, often called 'Hanoi Hilton' - the former French security prison, which was also used for the US prisoners of war. It is a very interesting museum.
In addition to the National Museum of art there are many fine galleries displaying contemporary art, including Gallery Apricot and Art Vietnam.
