From nana station how will I get to makasan station to get to the airport. Alternatively what’s the best way without using a taxi as traffic I hear us really legendary

There is no MRT from Nana, I'm afraid. Considering you posted a question about MRT.
Your options are:
-BTS Sukhumvit Line to Phaya Thai, change there to Airport Rail Link;
or:
-BTS BTS Sukhumvit Line to Asoke, change there to Airport Rail Link.
The latter will need you walking a bit to the ARL, as the stations are not directly next to each other.
So if I where you, I'd go for option one. Also, Phaya Thai is the first stop of ARL. Which can be advantage for getting seats instead of standing. ARL is notorious for overcrowding during rush hour.
Depending on what time you're leaving, a taxi can be an option. But it's still about 45-60 minutes by car.

You have to travel in a big " C" direction and change trains and lines and involving walking between connections as the distance in a direct line is around 1km a cab (always get a price first) should only be around 100 bhat train for two would cost about 40 bhat

Hi, when you leave the MRT or BTS, you have to drop the token into the turnstile which means you need to get another one to do another journey
Google the hotel name then see what station is closer to it.

For all trips within Thailand from Don or Swampy airports there are several ways to travel. The easiest and most expensive is to take a Taxi from the airport. The next is to take MRT and a Train and a Bus. I dont recommend TukTuk or Songthaew unless it is a very short distance and you know where you are going (scammers) - if you have google maps on smartphone show them and they will know to go straight there.
Besides researching on the net beforehand of course - contact the Hotel you are staying at and asking them. At the airport look for the Thailand Tourist Authority Counter - they speak English and will help with advice.
Be aware that if you ask a Thai a question they will either walk away or try to answer - whether they know or not (loss of face issue). Always get 2-3 pieces of advice when asking general public people where to go. I dont anymore - even the Thai wife gets incorrect information.
By the way - trains are OK - but some local trip buses are non-aircon and very very hot. OK for the locals, but be careful. For the longer trips they are usually air-con and usually working. When at a local bus stop and an old clunker shows up, sometimes the next bus can be one with air-con, so sometimes best to just wait.

Hello. I know that the train cars on the MRT are air conditioned. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHETHER THE STATIONS THEMSELVES ARE AIR CONDITIONED AS WELL?
I am concerned that it will be very, very hot in the station. I appreciate any input!
