San Bushman Villages…..remarkable opportunity
Jun 2013
[1] The two week trip to Namibia in June 2013 with WWA http://worldwildadventure.com guided by Jaime Sharp and Stuart Goring continues to have a powerful influence on my perception of the world, and motivation for more off-the-beaten track travel that WWA does so well. The most enduring connection I feel from the myriad adventures of this trip was from the 5 days we spent with two tribes of San from Grashoek Village east of Maroelaboom and the Hunter Village near Tsumkwe. One of our guides, Stuart, a specialist in contact with indigenous peoples, who has spent many months living with these remarkable people, had arranged for an excellent translator to accompany us. I felt I was beginning to actually connect to the heart of Africa (rather than just visiting it with my first world cocoon intact) as we were sitting around the fire on the Nye Nye salt pan with a vast star-scape above us after a remarkable day of animal tracking when we were lead into a long conversation with our three San hunter guides about the mythology, and cultural heritage of the San People. This evening was a rich and unique opportunity of personal contact with these remarkable people and a successful mutual striving to be understood despite vast cultural differences. I felt "This is what I came to Africa for." These days with the San overshadow even the daily fare of truly remarkable encounters with myriad great and small game animals and birds of Namibia our adventurous guides brought us into countless times throughout Etosha Park and more remote sites. The three excellent meals that our second guide Jaime prepared at each campsite were quite varied, nutritious and very satisfying without being fancy. Jaime's photography instruction, great sense of humor and vast collection of personal adventure stories entertained and daily brought us closer together as a group of explorers, and Stuart's encyclopedic knowledge of bushcarft, and the people, flora and fauna of Namibia were a cornucopia of wisdom unique in my experience of travel guides. The bullet-proof WWA 4WD Toyota vehicles with fold-out roof top tents and mattresses were the ideal choice allowing us a maximum of comfort, night-time safety, affordability and the option to leave the usual tourist routes behind. WWA's website promised they would bring us into adventuring “to the most beautiful locations, unique itineraries and outstanding expert trip leaders, instructors and local guides, while traveling in a sustainable and beneficial way.” They totally met this promise in all respects and for this I am deeply grateful to and enduringly impressed with WWA.

Good service and an excellent driver/guide!
Okt 2012 • Bisnis
We were in Windhoek for 10 days to shoot a documentary film. For transport our travel agency booked a car and driver from Hello Namibia Safaris. Car was a nice new Daihatsu SUV and our driver/guide Paulus was a gift from above!

Where ever we needed to go, he could share some information about the place. When there was lots of traffic he knew all the right shortcuts. Since were shooting in Katutura district we spent most of the time there. Paulus seemed to know everybody and we got really good service wherever we went. For each day he found us a new place for lunch, and we got an excellent picture of local food culture and lifestyle. For our day off he also had a lots of different activities and attractions to choose from.

All together a really good experience!

Great City & Katutura Experience with Hello Namibia Safaris
On my first visit to Namibia, we had two days to spend in Windhoek and was advised to go on a Windhoek City & Katutura Township tour, we used the services of excellent service of Hello Namibia Safaris while affordable. The City tour was based more on historical background of the city and great attractions but the highlight was the Katutura Township tour. We got a glimse into the township lifestyle with a visit to local markets and home of a local to top it up with local cuisine. We had a very good time and I recommend this to any one that whats to truly experience the lifestyle of Windhoek.
