Had a very nice relaxing walk in this beautiful woodland. Loved The Teddy Bear picnic areas and the King and Queen Oak Trees

Ok if you like being shouted at while visiting the cafe.

I have never been anywhere like the cafe here. We arrived and got shown to a table. I assume the manager gave us a drinks menu. The waitress told me to look at the cakes still available. We gave the waitress our order, she then disappeared.
The other waitress with the purple apron then shouted to the elderly couple behind us " what did you order?" The couple replied. She shouted to check their order twice more. They eventually got their order.
She then returned behind the counter and shouted to us," have you ordered?". I shouted back yes. After a lengthy two way shout she found our order written on a pad. Then she shouted, " we are out of Thatcher's." I replied have you got a different cider?
"I don't know beers" she replied.
She did find a local cider in the fridge.
The drinks were brought to the table.
After returning behind the counter she shouted,"What cakes did you want?".
I shouted back our order, again..
When we came to pay we had to tell her what the order was for a further time.

I have never been to anywhere so disorganized before.....

Toilets really let the gardens down

This is a lovely peaceful informal garden with walking trails through woods. I would suggest it is not suitable for children but good for more mature visitors.
There is a big downside as the only toilets available are two in a shack in the car park. Very old fashioned & smelling strongly of urine. The toilet roll holder was jammed during my visit, adding insult to injury.
A pleasant undemanding visit otherwise.

Paddle boarding at Fairhaven woodlands and water gardens

Paddle boarding with Simon as our instructor was amazing. We had a great time paddle boarding at fairhaven woodland and water gardens on their private broad. The gardens are stunning too, a thoroughly enjoyable day out, made all the more enjoyable
By our paddle boarding experience. Simon was an excellent teacher who was very knowledgeable of the local area and wildlife. We will definitely be going back for another lesson and would highly recommend this very professional and personal experience

Long wait for overpriced food

Waited nearly an hour for two paninis and they ran out of the ingredients for it. Very overpriced for food. Two paninis (ran out of bacon - one with ham instead) and two weeny tiny baby portions of apple juice (the cheap kind you get in school dinners - from concentrate) cost £20. The fact that we had to wait so long for something so simple was frustrating. I wouldn’t come back as half the menu they didn’t have, it’s overpriced, and the wait was terrible.

Peaceful walk

Lovely peaceful trails and beautiful views of the broad. Midge the dog loved her walk on a short lead. Very tasty lunch at the cafe and good selection of plants. Still some spring interest. Loved the wood carvings too.

Beautiful and peaceful walk through the woodland. I would imagine it is beautiful at any time of year. We loved it, good cafe and plant sale. Could do with more toilets, apart from that perfect.

NOT wheelchair friendly at all!!!

Arrived to find the car park is all stones, which as anyone with a wheelchair knows is one of the worst surfaces, we would perhaps have gone no further but had already booked and paid online given the "accessible to all" claims on website.
Collecting map in the shop we were told it's a little rough in places - what an understatement! It took my brother to push my dad in the wheelchair plus my mum and I to assist either aside in order to wheel around the site, hardwork all the way with just a brief respite on the boardwalk but even then several spots need maintenance as uneven boards nearly had dad tipped out!
This time of year we knew plants wouldn't be in full swing but we honestly saw more flowers and variety on the drive there than on the 'walk'. A very expensive and disappointing experience - please don't waste your time and money if you are a wheelchair user.

Well worth a visit

Had a really nice 2 hour visit with our daughter and our two dogs. Even at this time of the year there is a lot to see. The routes are well marked and easy to follow.There were some very interesting garden plants for sale including fritillaries.
