Very intetesting experience, nice activity for kids and adults! Very kind staff always willing tou help. Nice tour around the area and information about the dinosaurs history. Will go again.

Antonio - Italy's biggest dinosaur

We found this place by chance - noticing big posters with signs Dinosaurs by the Monfalcone - Trieste (Miramare) road. Not knowing what to expect (theme park?, archeological site?) we decided to give it a try. The site is located by the Adriatic sea, lot's of parking place provided (free of charge). There is a restaurant near by with great view of the site. The paleontological site is a short walk away - the access path is quite steep and not suitable for wheelchairs and prams. The site offers mostly guided tours, but we decided not to go for it, because we feared that the tour might not be suitable for our young children. However we were lucky enough that the staff there is extremely helpful - the lady that sells tickets gave us a short tour and explained some basic facts about the dinosaur found in the site. The explanation was in Slovene and very captivating - the kids enjoyed themselves very much. There are stones with fossils available for sale (3€ per kg) - kids can use a chisel and a hammer to find their own fossils. Overall my kids enjoyed them selves very much and want to become archeologists when they grow up:)
