I think it is great a reviewer has stated the history. We think this is a beautiful, peaceful village to walk around. As stated, you cannot visit the castle but we were happy to walk around the main plaza and the remains of the old town. Very clean and it is obvious that the people/community are very proud of their village due to the painted doors, lack of graffiti and garbage. We were impressed compared to a lot of other towns in this area.
