“Crazy and inconsistent Trune policy”

4 couples (3 inter atiinal and 2 kamaaina) want to play plantation. I'm tild that kamaaina can't book until 15 days out and they wont guaranty the kamaaina couple will be able to play with their friends. The only way i could be assured is to pay visotor rate. Mauna Lani also managed by Trune said they would not fill the group so when i do call to add kamaaina not a problem.

Great course but way overbooked! Had a 10:06 tee time and didn’t get off until after 11. The round took 6 hours. Group behind us was constantly hitting into us while we were waiting for the group in front of us. You would think at $400 a round someone wound monitor pace of play and schedule tee times better. Very unfortunate consideration how fabulous the course is.

Played the Plantation and Bay courses in December 2021. If you're looking for more of a challenge, then play the Plantation but its cart path only as theyre getting ready for the tournament in January. Nothing but great things to say about otherwise though. Spectacular views on every hole. Long hitters dream! If i had to choose between this and the Bay course I would suggest the Bay as its a little more forgiving and you honestly cant beat the 16th and 17th holes. Either way, you're in for a real treat with either course.

Awesome Kapalua Golf!!

I have played and been here many times, but this trip was as always awesome!

Rick the starter was so awesome for me and my 12 year old son!! Rick made this a round of a lifetime!!!!!!

Everyone (all staff) went over the top for this amazing experience!!! Well done!!!!

The club house and lunch also was awesome with breathtaking views!!!

Great Job!!!!

This is the first time we visit the famous golf course, beautiful view. It is so windy, the golf ball even could not sit on the green, we quitted after the 11th hole due to my wife felt headache from the strong wind. We went to the club house to lunch, the hostess lead us to a side area, actually a small table on a balcony, we asked to be seated to the main dinning area which has 4 tables by the window, she said they are booked for the reservations, 20 mins later, we got our food, several birds flew to our table that we really couldn't eat, those window tables are still vacant with no any customers, I asked them again to remove to one of them, they still said not available, but they let other twosome sit one of the table with no reservation ( I checked with the customer), I complained to the front desk older lady and she let us move. Very unfriendly attitude to a couple senior golfers.

Final course on Maui to play

An interesting experience; I would say very hard course (and expensive) and was windy which is not unusual but the views are spectacular.

For those golfers who want spectacular views there’s no better course on the island of Maui than the Plantation at Kapalua. The problem is there are no marshals on the course so today’s round was 5 1/2 hours. Try to tee off as early as possible to avoid having to wait on every shot.

Disappointing Beauty

Well, after dropping a ridiculous amount of money, the experience was unwhelming. So, the course and the views are amazing. But all the rest of the experience was poor. The staff is underwhelming and couldn't seem to care about the guests. Having gone to other top tier courses, my expectation is a first class experience and Kapulua seems to be more of golf mill processing fish. Worse yet is that they allowed 5-somes and these guys were locals who live on the course and treated everyone else like they were lesser than. The pace of play is not good either and the quality of the facility is below expectations as well. Be mindful they have no "rain check" policy and we found that out first hand after our round was washed out by crazy rain and wind. Make sure you have your rain gear because a random cloud can come out of the blue. Do get me wrong the views and the course itself were great. I just don't know that I would play there again based on the rest of it.

A Lot of Money for a Very Long Round

Wow. This golf course is not for the faint of heart. The PGA Tour starts their season here in January and we don't recommend that you shell out the $$$ unless you're a pretty good golfer. This is mountain golf with spectacular views of the ocean, especially on the back nine. But there are lots of blind shots and forced carries. The hole distances are long, particularly for women. Our greatest issue was the pace of play. It was an agonizing 5 hours-plus. There was even a group of six in front of us. I'm not sure what their course management strategy is, because it appeared to be non-existent. Sure, it's a renowned course but once was enough for us.
