The F60 conveyor bridge is a colossal, half-a-kilometre long structure and a vivid testimony of (not so far) industrial history. It's striking to see the damage caused by producing energy (the old way). So, in short, this is a must-see. Every cent of the 9.50€ entrance fee (including guided tour) is worth it. You will climb the structure up to the highest point.
Point deduction for the fact, that the guide is quite hard to understand when you are at the rear of the group (due to the limited width of the walkways the groups will mostly be in a large lines one behind one). Also, it's rather remote. However, the heritage Zschilpchenbahn (which runs on sundays during the summer months between Finsterwalde and F60) is a great option to get there.

Impressive -- 13.500 t of Steel. Bigger than the eiffel Tower. Whow. We took part at a guided tour (led by Max), which was around 60 min. Ticket was 9,50 per adult, for students 8,50. Very interesting.
It's worth to visit, when you are in this part of Brandenburg, Germany.

The F60 Abraumförderbrücke is like no piece of machinery that I have ever seen before. It is enormous! Half as big again as a laid out Eiffel Tower. And built for the sole function of scraping off the layers of soil in order to get at the 'brown coal' (lignite) below.
To really experience its size you should go on one of the frequent guided tours and climb up inside its guts right to the end of its colossal arm. Not for those without a head for heights! Tours only seemed to be in German, but don't worry, the superlatives will just fly over your head anyway: for example, the diggers on this machine shave off from the landscape the equivalent volume of a football pitch covered with soil to the depth of 7-8 metres - every hour!
This machine is no longer in operation, though from the top of the F60 you get a good view of the wide valley (gradually becoming a new artificial lake) it carved out. Four others are still being used in the Lusation (Lausitz) region, much to the anger of environmentalists who rightly are campaigning about the destruction these behemoths cause (never mind the Sorb villages that have had to be abandoned in their paths).
Awesome, other-worldly (almost like the skeleton of an alien spaceship), terrifying even.
A must-see, especially if you are touring around the Lusation 'Lake District' (die Lausitzer Seenlandschaft) because machines like this are what created the hollows for the beautiful lakes that have now been created, once the lignite has been extracted and the machines have moved on.

Very beautiful lake if it weren't for the noise...techno bass all night (9 hours)...called the police 4 times...didn't help...won't be back any time soon..."many thanks for doing nothing and the very rude manner of the Brandenburg police..."

An excitingly different experience, not for people with a fear of heights. Interesting to hear the story of this great machine.
