A small museum displaying mainly furniture from the 1930s with connections to Boulogne-Billancourt and the local work of architects. Note that ,despite the museum's title, there are many aspects of the 1930s that are not even touched upon in the museum. For example the following things are absent:
- Clothes and fashions of the 1930s
- Trains and cars of the 1930s
- Aeroplanes and airships of the 1930s
- Radio and television systems of the 1930s
- Music of the 1930s
- Scientific advances of the 1930s

I love Art Deco and this museum is full of it as well as art and sculptures from the 1930s. The museum is beautifully, arranged, and easily accessible with stairs or elevator.

This was a very pleasant surprise. A very welcoming staff on reception set the tone for a super visit. I don't have an arty background but the exhibits , based on three floors were extremely interesting and ranged from sculptures by Lewandowski, a range of artists from the 1930's and also some interesting art deco furniture collections. I didn't realise that Lewandowski sculptured the ' Christ the Redeemer' statue in Rio- awesome!

happened across this museum as the poster advertising the current exhibition was next to my hotel. A wonderful permanent collection of Art Deco design and Landowski sculptures, and a marvellous temp exhibition of a luxury French ocean liner form the 1920s.

This is a small but relatively focused museum. The main draw is sculpture of Lewandoski. It also displays contemporary artists from the 30s. It was thought provoking for us to see connections between Paris School artists. The fee is modest and worth the visit

Well organized over several floors (start at the top and work your way down), this museum does an excellent job exploring decorative arts and fine arts in France during the 1930’s. I particularly enjoyed the decorative arts (furniture, architectural models, etc.) on the top floor.
It is worth pairing this with a visit to the Porcelain Museum in Sèvres, just across the river. A very easy cab or Uber ride if you don’t feel like a 30 minute walk.
The top floor also features the work of Landowski, the French sculptor best-known for the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio. Very interesting!

Was hoping to see more art deco furniture and artifacts. There was a limited selection of this sort of art deco material, more paintings and sculptures than we would have preferred. If you are interested in art deco pieces in the style of that which might be found in the Empire State building in NY you will be disappointed. It is a bit of a trek out there but not too bad on the metro, alll in about 40 minutes from Paris centre villle. So .... unless you are really into paintings and conventional type sculpture from that period I would give it a pass.

Staying in Boulogne-Billancourt, this was just a ten minute walk away.
Arranged over three floors, with a few other pieces by the reception, it has many beautiful examples of Art Deco - furniture, sculpture and paintings in particular.
It's probably no more than an hour's visit, including the one room of the Landowski collection (the bloke who did the Christ statue that looks down on Rio), but it's well worth it. It's just a shame they don't let you buy any of the pieces.

A very rich collection of underappreciated artists. There are 4 floors and some even with natural light. One is devoted to portraits and another to furniture. The admission gets you a free audio guide that though it isn't perfect (some numbered work is obviously been moved or is gone) is still very good. There is even a senior rate. This place is so new that the basement toilets have not been installed on their walls yet. FYI: there are two handicapped ones you can use. We spent almost three hours here. A very nice day viewing some terrific sculpture and paintings.

This is a Paris attraction for that return visit, when you have done all of the obvious stuff. Its a bit of a trek out to Billancourt, but you are an art lover, you will see here stuff that will amaze you, largely by artists of whom you have never heard. The art gallery is part of an arts centre complex in a magnificent modern building named for the sculptor Landowski. This place is too little known, a rare find.

It's a wonderfully diverse collection leaning heavily toward art deco. You'll have the place to yourself. Also visit the Museum of Monuments (Musee des Monuments Francais ). A hidden gem in Paris. It's also on TripAdvisor. Enjoy. My personal favorite is the Petite Palais which is free accept charges for special exhibits.
