Incredibly friendly and helpful service from Stefano who runs this lovely family business. He responded promptly on WhatsApp when we had a question the night before we wanted to go to his beach. In person he was an absolute delight. We had a super spot and even a cappuccino from Stefano. He treated us like a member of his family- and indeed we enjoyed a drink with some family and friends later in the day to celebrate a birthday! Such a brilliant guy. Would recommend! (Especially as we had a very mediocre experience at a nearby Bagno a few days earlier). Also a 10% discount for the restaurant out front. Perfect.

We visited bagno Maurizio after reading the great TripAdvisor reviews.
We had a lovely welcome from Stefano who showed us all the amenities, where to sit and where to store our valuables. He was genuine and helpful. He suggested where to eat at lunchtime and made us feel so welcome we plan to return. 😁

Viareggio is an easy train trop from Pisa. 15 minutes from Pisa Centrale by a very reasonably priced train and then maybe 20 minutes walk or so down to this place on the seafront. This part seemed to all private beaches and, having read the reviews on Trip Advisor, we searched it this one. Basically, you leave the station and go straight ahead until you hit the seafront. Then right until you come to beach number 73. The guy who runs it, Stefano, was a bit of a character but very helpful and welcoming. You are probably best booking in first, though we didn't and still got a great spot. You get a parasol, lounger, two deck chairs and another chair on the beach. Plus there are toilets and the use of a locked cabin for your stuff. Also get 10% off at the restaurant at the top of the beach. Nice sand and sea is quite shallow some way fro.the shore. A really great experience.

2nd time at Bagno Maurizio. I was there last year also. And there are a ton of beaches to choose from in Viareggio so why did I go back? Easy - the staff there are wonderful. Often times, as americans, we are "welcomed" but it feels like that "fake" welcome. I felt genuine warmth from Stefano. And, as american who lives in Italy part-time, so often shops, restaurants, etc want to speak to me in English when I'm quite capable of doing small tasks such as ordering in italian - it really makes me angry. Despite knowing that Im american and that his english is likely better than my italian, Stefano spoke to me in italina - molto gentile

Lovely beach, clean, great location, access to local restaurants and supermarkets for lunch. Clean changing rooms if you need them. But best of all Stefano will welcome you with open arms and make your stay in Viareggio even more memorable!

Tried this place based on all the reviews, it was very overrated. Stefano was a friendly host but it was a disappointing experience. On asking for 3 sunbeds, on turning up on the beach, we were given one with no explanation. The place didn’t have any on-site restaurant (which is a must if you have young kids) but he named one indicating it was just next door…which turned out to be 10 minutes’ walk away! There are other Bagnos nearby more suitable for families.

You can tell Stefano really loves his job! He is an amazing host, who genuinely cares about his customers. His beach is super clean and well equipped. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked in advance via WhatsApp and Stefano upgraded us closer to the water! There is a playground for kids, vending machine and clean bathrooms. Our kids loved his beach and didn’t want to go anywhere else. Stefano even bought us some water and gave kids a chocolate bar when we were leaving. Thank you for your hospitality and making our vacation so special!

Absolute delight ! Stephan was the nicest most helpful person ever! his entire team are just so nice, his assistant gave us a tour of the entire place , gave us tips In how better enjoy our stay. I visited Italy for 10 days and last minute I decided to go to Viareggio, I knew most of the people reserve in advance, but I decided to ask for availability, Stephan accommodate us and gave us his own chairs at the beach so we could have a wonderful day during our stay. everything was so clean and organized at bagno Maurizio, I recommend 10000% . that day was one of the highlights of my entire vacation ! grazie mille!!

We have had the most amazing holiday in Viareggio, thanks to Stefano.and his team! They work tirelessly to ensure that everyone who visits the Bagno is happy and well catered for! We holiday in italy every year and we can honestly say, this is the friendliest Bagno we have ever visited!
The beach area is clean and well looked after. There are a variety of sunbed/sun lounger/ chair options available. I would most definitely recommend booking in advance as this Bagno is very popular!
Facilities include: safety lockers for valuable items, changing cubicles, showers, children’s play area, vending machines and shaded seating areas for lunch etc. there is also a beach bar right next door where you can purchase drinks and food.

Hello! For parking we suggest taking a ticket at Bar Restaurant Olivieri in front of us. The ticket is €8 and allows you to park anywhere in Viareggio. It is cheaper than putting coins in the parking lots
