Incredible Mountain View with stunning mountain peak as the landmark. You can reach the peak by just taking gondola cable car from Ortisei town, looking at the sign Ortisei-Funes-Seceda. On the top you can have lunch, take photos and walking around with little up and down hills to enjoy the view.
Good for friends, family with the kids. It is one of the mountain in South Tyrol where is easy to access.

This is an absolute hike you must do! The scenery is absolutely fabulous and the town of Ortesei is magical!!

We took the Furnes/Seceda lift from Ortisei on a morning so cloudy that the top wasn't visible. As we exited at Seceda the clouds began to break up and within 30 minutes we had the most incredible views of our trip. We walked along the ridgeline for a few hours and marveled at the changing views. Well worth the expensive lift tickets.

This was on my bucket list. My husband did it in 2019 and I only made it on the first gondola and was afraid to go to the top on the second large gondola. I promised myself and him if we ever went back I would push past my fears of heights and do it. I did and it was worth it tremendously. It was a cloudy day but was still worth the breathtaking views and the amazing “hot chicollate dense” at the top at the cafe! Like pudding in a cup if you are a chocolate lover! It is a rather strenuous hike once you get off the last gondola to go all the way to where the cross is but I would highly recommend it. We are in our very late 60’s and were also feeling under the weather, but we still made it - no problem. It can be chilly up there so prepare for that.

Stunning views. We rode the gondola and tram up to the top and hiked around the meadow for a few hours. Stopped at a Rifugio for a snack and beverage. Great place to spend an afternoon.

Parking is just below the cable car station and the parking fee is very reasonable. Once you step out the gondola, you find yourself surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks. It is a very incredible experience.

If you think the views from the two chairlifts it takes to get to Secëda are spectacular, wait until you arrive at the top.
There's sheer cliffs that fall away abruptly on one side and soaring mountains on the other. It's so high up, that the villages that dot the landscape below, appear tiny.
It's breathtakingly beautiful and otherworldly.
Whether you walk around and enjoy the scenery or do like us and sit on the grass and have a picnic lunch, it's a fantastic experience.
Would I go back? In a heartbeat. ..

This mountain is very beautiful. Speechless with its beauty. I have been to Lofoten and the Western part of Norway which is also beautiful but this one also took my breath away. After a week vacation in the Dolomites, I think Seceda would be my nr. 1 site if I were to rank the most beautiful sites of the Dolomites.
Walking sticks is nice to have to help in walking downhill.
I suggest to park your car in the town's parking building if you arrive late like us. There is a shortcut to walk passing by the Cathedral.

You saw the photos. Well seeing it in person, even on a cloudy day, takes your breath away. The beauty of the green grass and wildflowers around it, juxtaposed with the bizarre look of it resembling a torn gash in the ground -- they makes it appear like something out of this world. Walks around the area are long but not very strenuous. Can get busy.

Buongiorno, ad agosto vorremmo andare al Seceda, con noi c'è anche il nostro cane. Oltre a passeggiare e godersi il posto meraviglioso, vorremmo scattare delle foto nel tardo pomeriggio/sera quando c'è la luce migliore. Pensavamo, da Ortisei, di raggiungere Seceda con cabinovia e funivia, e al ritorno scendere a piedi (essendo la cabinovia disponibile fino alle 17). Qual é il percorso più corto e più "sicuro" per il ritorno? Tenendo conto che poi diventerà buio. Grazie mille!

Ciao, sono d'accordo con te che il momento più bello è il pomeriggio sul tardi quando la dolomia al tramonto si veste dei colori più belli. Seceda offre spettacoli della natura unici. Conosco un sentiero di media difficoltà ( spero che tu abbia una buona conoscenza della montagna) che da Seceda scende ad Ortisei. Arriva alla baita Curona. Al bivio subito dopo la baita gira a sinistra e rimani sul sentiero n° 6, che conduce al Monte Pic (2.363 m). Prendi la via n° 6 e dopo circa 700 m, al bivio, svolta a destra e segui le indicazioni n° 20 in direzione sud, passando vicino alla baita Seurasas. Quindi a destra (20A). Dopo circa mezz'ora di camminata gira nuovamente a destra e imbocca il sentiero 32 e sei sulla strada asfaltata. Dopo il paesino San Giacomo sei a Ortisei. Durata del rientro h. 3.30, quindi fai bene i calcoli, gli scarponi sono d'obbligo, il paesaggio merita ma ti consiglio fermamente di non farlo di notte.

Un panorama spettacolare è quello della Seceda sicuramente il più bello della Val gardena. Sia d'estate che d' inverno attira sia escursionisti sia sciatori. Bivaccare si può? Dove arrivano le funivie ci sono prati. Poi come fa a muoversi da Venezia. in questo strano periodo? Anche gli impianti sono bloccati. Le consiglio di restare a casa per evitare spiacevoli sorprese. Poi quando tutto ripartirà se vorrà dei consigli, conosco quella zona delle dolomiti meglio del mio paese. Resti a casa.
Stiamo pensando di partire i giorni tra l'11 e il 15 ottobre. Mi confermate che è aperto in quei giorni? E se è possibile, potreste darmi dei consigli su una vacanza lì? Alloggeremo in un appartamento a Ortisei.

Qual è il momento migliore per fotografare la cresta delle Odle? (Vorrei, ovviamente, evitare di trovarmi in controluce ed essere costretta a un’altra escursione, visto anche il costo degli impianti.) Meglio salire da Ortisei al mattino o al pomeriggio? Grazie a chi vorrà aiutarmi.

Hello all, going to visit 3 - 7 May, seems the cable car is closed during that time. Wondering any other way up there? Where's the best start point with minimum walking? Possible to drive up to a certain spot and walk up to it? Grateful for any suggestions. Thank you in advance.

Dear Cataline , I suggest you to start from St. Christina-Col Raiser and to walk until the top of Seceda using these infos.
Starting point : Rifugio Raiser (on the top of cable/Cabinovia Col Raiser)

Of course Nina ! There are some places to stay.
The real "problem" for the pictures is the season , for example right now the sunrise is at 07:00 AM ( I mean ) and the sunset is at 05:00 PM ... so I suggest you to visit Seceda from June until ausgut or early of September. Have a great holiday in Dolomiti ! :)))

Si, si può tornare a piedi. Sono circa 2 ore di cammino a passo veloce fino ad ortisei.
