Open air art museum
Des 2018 • Pasangan
It seems there are 69 works of art in La Defense, making a great open air museum. There is also a map with all of them and 3 possible artistic tours available on ladefense.fr. Some of the artworks are easily discovered while wondering around, for others the map could by very handy. Definitely, interesting.

Unexpected open air museum
Des 2017 • Teman
Few people seem to know about the existence of an open air museum in Paris’ business district La Défense although it is well worth a visit. It is possible to download a map and information from the ladefense.fr website, but we picked up a map and an illustrated brochure at the on-site visitor information centre (‘Espace Infor Défense’) on Place de La Défense. The brochure proposes several routes on the site. As there are 60 very diverse works of art scattered among the buildings, it takes some time to see them all. On a cold December day, we didn’t manage, but we saw quite a few. We particularly liked the work of Polish artist Igor Mitoraj (1944 –2014), The great Toscano (1983), Tindaro (1997), Icarus (1999) and Icaria (2000), Point Growth by Korean sculptor Lim Dong-Lak (2007) and The Sleepwalker by French artist Henri de Miller (1983), which somehow reminded us of the work of Swedish sculptor Carl Milles.

Preparing our visit to La Défense we found it difficult to find the relevant Tripadvisor reviews. Some comments are to be found under La Défense (Things to do in Paris). Four of the works have a separate entry under Things to Do at La Defense: ‘Sculpture de Cesar, Le pouce’, ‘Peinture Monumentale de Bottazzi’, ‘Sculpture de Joan Miro’ and ‘Doubles lignes indederminees’ (which should of course be ‘indéterminées’). Only a few reviewers comment on the whole open air museum under ‘Parcours Artistique de Paris La Defense’ (Things to do in La Defense).
