Amazing night

Amazing show on the night, but wrap up warm as the stands are open to the elements. We had tickets for the day and night shows. Not a great deal to do during the day apart from eating and drinking there are a few exibutes and a horse show. However it does get very busy on the night for the main event which I can't recommend enough and an unbelievable firework display. Staff and volunteers are amazing

We went on the Finale Day. The entire day was great, lots to do and see. Food area very good with good choices and reasonable prices. Afternoon show was awesome and the music on the Lake a real treat.
THE EVENING SHOW WAS A MAGNIFICENT, WORLD CLASS, TRULY 'EPIC TALE OF ENGLAND' ..... WOW!
already booked our hotel for 2022, can't wait for Kynren tickets to go on sale.
Highly recommended, (a must for the bucket list !)

Outstanding, absolutely breathtaking experience and was worth every penny.

The parking situation is a joke though, stewards let people have a free for all on the way out, leaving some people behind in the car parks for hours.

Superb show but admin just AWFUL

Well the shows at 11 arches park and Kynren were just amazing and cannot be detracted from. A great experience for people of all ages! Ours was spoilt, and from what we saw we were by no means the only ones, by a series of administrative incompetencies! (And Ive calmed down considerably before daring to write this) We ordered the tickets last year and was informed that at least a month before the show we would be contacted re parking etc. Three weeks to go and no email so I contacted them by email and waited three days, no reply so rang x 11 times and EVENTUALLY (two days before the date and the day we travelled 156 miles to get there) a lovely person answered who was most helpful. On the day we checked the website; "Doors open at 11' so we set off from our hotel to walk the 3 miles there for 11 am. The gates were open, a couple of cars waiting and not a soul in sight. We wandered around the site looking for someone for about 10 minutes. We saw several security guards having what looked like heated exchanges with drivers and one ran over to us askung what we were doing. We told him and he told us that the site didnt open until 1pm and to come back then. I showed him 11 am on the website and he told us to 8gnore that and his exact words were" the whole bloody thing has been a disaster since the July show and its us that get the flack' Anyway we left, walk8ng another 1.5 miles to Bishop and came back at 1 to a fabulous show. We then left at 5 to return to our hotel and collect the car. We put the postcode supplied on the parking directions email and queued for 20 mins to get to the car park, only to be told that wasnt the car park! When I explained that we had followed the email instructions he told us.....yep you guessed it... ignore those and follow signs for the green car park. When I remonstrated with the security he just said exactly what the guy in the morning said that it was an administrative shambles and he wasnt prepared to take the flack! By now I was furious and stressed and it took another 22 mins to follow the one way system to our parking and we were now running late. We got on the last shuttle (7.45) bus even though we hadnt paid and the volunteers wouldnt let us as , I think, I scared them! It RUINED what could have been a fabulous experience!
OK weve had COVID AND people working from home but for goodness sake get someone in charge who knows what they are doing! Rant over!

Great show

We throughly enjoyed the show it was amazing the only reason I haven’t given a 5 star was we had to pay £10 to enter the park on top of our VIP tickets as far as we could see it’s 2 separate experiences the park which is excellent for children and the excellent show we were told we had to purchase both tickets

Amazing experience

What an amazing experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon as well as the evening performance at 11 Acres. The special effects were nothing short of amazing, and the synchronisation, especially given the fact that most of the cast were amateur, was terrific.

Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone!

Absolutely loved my kynren experience

Well organised parking system, shuttle bus, without incident, no queues on ticket validation. Viking village, the maze, show in the library all exceptional, very educational. Fina and the golden cape show was spectacular. We listened to jazz concert, while having our picnic on the grass, before attending the main event, which was sublime. Little bit busy on leaving, which was totally understandable, we decided to walk back car, to stretch our leg, path was well lite, and well marshalled. Exit from car park, was busy but well managed, card moving constantly. Over all experience great, will return next year.
Web site needs updating for future events, like the pyro musicale in November.

Entertaining; shame about the seating.

Positives: The stewards around the site were all cheerful and friendly and the Fish and Chips were amazing. Toilet facilities were well maintained. The lighting/special effects on the water were mesmerising.

Negatives: Parking - we parked in Car Park C after being advised this was the closest car park. The 20 minute walk down to the site in daylight wasn't a problem however, the walk back was tricky under foot given there is no lighting and the path was very uneven lined with nettles either side in places. It took us 1 hour 20 to exit the car park. It was clearly much quicker parking off site and using the shuttle bus service.
Seating - we paid for deluxe seating, there is nothing deluxe about it! The view of the show is the same no matter where you sit. You are sitting on 'primary school' sized plastic seating, crammed in like sardines with very little leg room (not great given the cost of the seats). Fortunately, there were a number of seats unoccupied which meant some people could sit across two seats. We had friends sitting in standard seating, there was no difference! Furthermore, the adults sitting in front of us were extremely intoxicated and as a result, distracting, loud and lairy, lying back in seats and using foul language, despite having small children with them and lots of children around them (including ours). Despite people around us complaining to staff, they were left to carry on which was disappointing given this is a family show. Covid/use of face masks - bizarre to see every single member of the 1000 stong crew maintaining at least a 2m distance from one another when performing whilst 8000 visitors sat crammed in seating with no requirement to wear a face covering.
Overall, the show was interesting (for our children) but certainly not worth the money (stick to standard seats).

Spectacular show which is action packed and totally spellbinding
This is a fantastic event for Visit County Durham and Bishop Auckland
This and Auckland Castle make Bishop Auckland a must visit place

Utterly spectacular show

Show itself was utterly spectacular! Vibrant and the most amazing effects. What a production. So much to see, a real experience.
Sadly the rest of the event was weak. No pre show atmosphere at all. People encouraged to arrive early, but no excitement in the wait.
