My partner, dog and I moved to Odense exactly 8 weeks ago. Munke Mose Gardens is our regular early morning walk. It lifts the spirits. The park is not over-manicured - there is a lovely natural feel to it. The river is charming and, as well as the standard ducks, moorhens and coots, a particular heron is a regular visitor. The park is also peppered with sculptures, many Hans-Christian Andersen related. The only sad thing is that on a morning following sunny weather the grass is littered - covered - with rubbish from partying picnickers. Inexcusable. I don't know why the city doesn't take a leaf out of Singapore's books and impose heavy fines for such behaviour - and police the gardens to deter people.

A beautiful park, cool and green in the summer heat, but beautiful all year around. You will find flower gardens, art, fountains, quiet spots for relaxation and good spots for picnics here. The river winding through the gardens is in central role and the water element really brings an added charm to the gardens. Kids will enjoy the fun and cool playgrounds here.
