A very beautiful, remarkable pink palace, right in the center of Lisbon.The Foz Palace was designed in the 18th century but was completed in the 19th century. The building was designed by the Italian architect Francesco Saverio Fabri . The facade of the Foz Palace is typical of the 18th century. The interior has a decoration characteristic of the second half of the 19th century. The Foz Palace is one of the most magnificent buildings in the capital of Portugal.

It doesn't look like a palace from outside, and the first floor is tourist info, and other services. You can buy your Lisboa Card here, and every form of public transportation is right outside the door.

Located in Restauradores square, built in 1777, and sumptuously restored in 1889, by the Marquis of Foz.
In 2019, several of the palace's rooms will become a music museum.

No wonder why such a beautiful place is not that talked about because this is only open on few occasions and you need to queue. The group tour doesn't work as you need to be really a big group like those tour buses to be able to book a tour and pay 5euros each.
Luckily the guards at the entrance are very friendly and helpful with info about this place.

Took a detailed tour throughout this palace and was well worth it.I always wondered what was inside this big pink fortress. Throughout the summer months the Palace offers classical concerts to the public in the hall of mirrors;A miniature version of Versailles.This palace is very similar to the Queluz palace not far fromLisbon and also a great journey.Our tour guide was a wealth of information with lots of anecdotes of the Palace.

Maybe it's a nice palace but it's not always open for the public. If there's a concert maybe you can walk around, otherwise you have to make an appointment via their website I guess...

You can book a guided tour and do it peacefully. Many people visit us.
No one is prevented from visiting the Foz Palace.

This is a lovely and centrally located small palace in Lisbon.
The palace features pinkish hues and lovely halls.
Unfortunately, some of the famous main halls were closed during our visit, so we only got a chance for a short peek.

Our choral group enjoyed singing in the Hall of Mirrors in Palacio Foz. We had good acoustics, a very nice piano, and attentive audience the afternoon of the performance.

This beautiful pink building in Restaudouro square,houses a museum,tourist information bureau and police headquarters.
It can be easily reached by metro,trams and buses.
Diagonally opposite is the Hard Rock Cafe.

It doesn't necessarily look great from outside but the interior is sumptuous. We went there for a concert not knowing how beautiful the rooms and staircase were. Keep an eye out for the concerts held here - a number have free entry. There is also an exhibition of cinematograph equipment.

I am bringing an Art & Architecture Study Group to Lisbon from 17th to 24th April, staying in the International Design Hotel and would like to bring them to the Palacio Foz at C11.30 am on Wednesday 18th for a guided tour.
