Very interesting place to visit with such a well preserved well from around 1000 BC. Also the old village that was, inhabitanted up to the 1960s and one of the oldest nuraghes in Sardinia

Being built around 1000 BC this is an amazing piece of nuragic architecture. What is so amazing that in September (from 21st to 23rd at 12.00) and in March (from 18th to 21st at 11.00) on the occasion of the equinoxes the sun perfectly lights up the bottom of the well, until it touches the water, passing through the stairwell.
Area around the well has other nuragic structures and this was our favourite nuragic place.

If you are interested in ancient civilisations and local history then you will probably like this place. I visited this site as we were in the area. The site is right next to an exit from the highway. We were lucky enough to be in time for the guided tour organised by the information centre - ticket office (free of charge, in Italian language). The guide was very prepared and he explained and share his knowledge of the Nuragic.

This place is known as the Nuragic Complex of Santa Cristina. Very interesting well that looks as if it was built today. Summer and autumn equinox means very interesting light formation in the complex.

Clean toilets and excellent espresso served in the cafe.

we have choosen to visit it according trip advisor rating, but it was nothing special. some prehistorical buildings of stone, some type of village with buildings and a well. tooks about half an hour to look around. maybe it would be more intersting with a guide. anyway, I think there are much more interesting to do in sardinia than this point of interest.

This is one of the best archeological sites in Europe. If there weren't so many Nuraghe on the island I'm sure that this would get far more attention. It's wonderful because it's so unspoilt. Spend a couple of hours soaking up the atmosphere. It helps if you read up about the Nuragic civilization in advance. There aren't written records for these bronze age so there's still not a lot known but this site is in great condition considering it's pre-Roman. Great for photography.

This site is well-worth the stop if you are nearby. We drove an hour out of our way to see it and are very happy that we did. I was amazed at the elegant geometry of the stairs and well. The workmanship is outstanding. The moon reflects in the pool of water during the lunar standstill, an event you can only dream to witness since it only occurs every 18 years. Yet, the site is impressive and one of the most important nuraghe sites. There is a spiritual feel here. As an extra bonus, there are the ruins of a nuraghe village and the buildings from the Santa Cristina convent onsite.
It is located right off the SS131 with a lovely restaurant in the same parking lot. MUST DO!

The site is very interesting, especially for the people who have never seen nuraghe monuments (like us). The site is composed of 2 different areas: the sanctuary with triangular "way down" and nuraghe village with several buildings. Built by an ancient culture 3000 years ago, with heavy stones and no "glue" between them – it is surprising that such buildings are still preserved in quite a good shape to amaze modern people. The fact that there are a lot of theories and ideas around this culture and these buildings and no common agreement between scientists makes these monuments mysterious!

Sardegna is well known for the hundreds of Bronze Age structures called nuraghe scattered in the countryside. Less well known is an even more remarkable structure surrounding a well and dedicated to a water divinity in an archeological park near Paulilatino. Unlike the nuraghe, the stone cutting is precise. Apparently, the design is almost identical to other sacred wells in Bulgaria and the Crimea. The site, which is near an excellent nuraghe inLosa, also hosts a fine, small nuraghe itself and a monastery hundreds of years old.
