Anne Frank, a Jewish teenager while in hiding during Holocaust writes her personal diary based on her experince telling of the suffering of the dutch people. Anne tells of her hiding behind a book case from the Nazi people. Her father later I believed published a book from her notes. This museum is a must see if you are in Amsterdam.

Very touching tour...read her diary and you get to relive it...buy tickets in advance if you can, if unable to, go there early before 9am, you wait in line via the website for the extra tickets they offer for the day. It was worth seeing it for those who like history.

We booked the Anne Frank house &
30min. talk before, on a one day visit before our Baltic Cruise. I waited too late to get admittance to just the house but 2 weeks before our trip if I added the 30min. Talk for 3-4euros more we were able to skip the line. It was very interesting & covered the majority of what we saw on the walk through with the audio guide.
We also booked "That Dam Guide",
Mark, for a 3hr. walking tour on a recommendation. He was very knowledgeable of the history & took us through the city & red light district & we stopped in a quaint coffee shop off the beaten path. If you're a history buff, it was well worth it.

A wonderful play about Anne Frank. It is based on the different versions of her diary and continues the story after her hiding place was discovered. The play received a well-deserved standing ovation from the audience. It is performed in Dutch, but non-Dutch speakers are able to reserve an ipad which is attached to the seat in front and provides captions in 8 languages. It was an emotional experience. Highly recommended.

The night that we were there there was a 25 minute speech (at the box office we were told that it would last 20 minutes, but it ran over). There was no advance notice that this would be the case and since the speech was in dutch, all non-dutch speakers were out-of-luck.
The main issue that keeps me from giving the show a 5 is the closed captions. I had read that we could hear an audio translation, but was informed at the show that only closed captions were available. There were a number of times when the closed captions moved very quickly and it was not possible to read them. Most of the time it was okay and once-in-awhile they were very slow to change.
We saw this show the night before visiting the Anne Frank House Museum and it definitely helped put everything in context.

Wonderful play. Very touching, geest acting andere great decor. Especially the replica of the 'Achterhuis' that turns around in the stage is great. The storybof Anne Frank is told really well in a relatively short amount of time. Highly recommendable, although one should not expect a musical, it is really 'just' a play.

A Fantastic and very emotional play based the the diary of Anne Frank. The set/stage is superb with a rotating house which shows the different rooms where Anne and family lived. There are also sliding sides to the stage where videos are played between sceens.
The Cast are excellent especially Anne who from start to finish play the part superbly creating a very emotional performance.
Obviously the play is in Dutch but at the time of booking tickets we requested translation to English so there was a little tablet in front of our seat with visual and audio translation provided.
We visited on 30 December 2015.

WOW - what an excellent venue and performance a credit to everyone involved. We arrived early as the theatre is out of the city but still easily accessible by bus or taxi. We had a pre-show meal which I have to say was above expectations for this type of venue, the food and service was perfect. The performance was conducted in a stage mock-up of Anne Franks house and annex - wait for it the whole house rotates as the play progresses! Large screens either side of the central stage show old film footage and relevant images to enhance the experience. You can also pre-book your own personal tablet PC and headphones to listen the dialogue in your preferred language complete with subtitles if desired...........how very thoughtful!

We visited the Christmas eve afternoon matinee and the four of us all enjoyed the show immensely.
The set and actors took us through the time Anne spent with her family (and others) in the Amsterdam annex.
Particular thanks to the actress who played Anne, very heart warming and exceptional acting.
One min point:
Car parking at 12,50 we found to be a little extortionate.

Very emotional play! I had English audio as the play is obviously in Dutch but I followed it fine . The interpretation was clear only bad point was it was hard to get the humour as the voice over has no emotion . Other than that fantastic .

The backstage tour take place immediately after the Performance. Our Company manager will take you backstage and show you the sets and behind the scenes and will tell you more about the origins of the Play, the Theatre and the ins and outs of the Production. It takes approx 25 mins.

I will stay Amsterdam in July.I would like to see"ANNE".Please tell me.
Biginning time of the play is 20pm,so ending time is about 23pm,isn't it?I will take 22bus to Central station.I am afraid that a lot of people will take the bus and I will be not able to take it.Everyone who want to take the buss is able to take it?And isn't it dangerous in midnight town?

Please don't worry about the capacity of the bus, line 22 runs every 5-10 minutes, after 23:00 there are 6 times the bus leaves the Theatre and gets you at Central Station before midnight.
You can also take a taxi for a fixed rate which you can pre-order at the Theatre.for 12,50 euro
