Amazing gallery

An excellent art gallery of mainly countryside scenes and portraits by local artists from 20th century, presented in a spacious palazzo.
There was absolutely no one else viewing on our visit.
There is also a bar and cafe with garden outside seating.
Well worth a visit and one does not get overdosed by biblical iconography one sees in all the churches anyway.

Beautiful building

The building is quite beautiful and well maintained.
It host a quite interesting picture gallery which I visited because my brother was interested in the exposition.

This is a superb gallery. A little gem that does not seem to get many visitors but has an excellent collection and great staff.

A lot of people working there , but no one speaking good English

This place being a foundation is more curated with a lot of bodyguards and people in costumes working there. We asked to see just the permanent collection and we ended to see everything because the girl from the reception was not speaking English (or she wanted to sell also the tickets for some exibitions that were at the moment). On the internet it was written that you can see only permanent collection without Donna Florio portrait that costed another 5euro . During the visit when we asked about some painting they were responding in Italian also. In my opinion, the permanent collections is having some good pieces.

Dear Ms Elena P., first of all we would like to apologise about that, but last weekend was a very special time for the Gallery. The whole permanent collection (+ the "Portrait of Donna Franca Florio") has been part of a special path conducted by children, so the only way to visit the permanent exhibition was buying that ticket, linked with the masterpiece of Giovanni Boldini "The Portrait of Donna Franca Florio". I visited this villa for the first time and I was surprised how well organized the gallery is.
Actually you cannot find in Palermo so very kind staff of young people, that were helpful in every moment of your "tour" inside the villa.
Renato Guttuso was amazing!

great place for a light lunch

this cafe/restaurant is located at the side and front of this museum. the table settings in the garden are cute , clean and modern. The menu is small, the club sandwich is excellent however the caesar salad had an american mustard dressing which is not quite right. However the food is clean fresh and tasty. an ideal place for a light lunch or as i suspect a nice place for a sundowner as the garden is illuminated.
