What an incredible shop and restaurant!
The selection and variety is fantastic and the staff is so warm and friendly. Antonio was so helpful and made sure we tried the best of everything. Would highly recommend stopping for a meal, a drink and then buy some souvenirs to take home!

We popped into this shop looking for olive oil and other gifts. After walking through, we saw they had a small restaurant in the back in their garden.
We enjoyed one of the freshest (and cheapest) lunches we had during our travels. Don't miss ordering their caprese salad - just wonderful.
Come here for a delicious fresh meal and well-priced gifts to take home. We purchased limoncello, pasta, and a selection of olive oils

Felicita (happiness)- there is no better word to describe our experience at Cassaro Bottega Alimentare! Walked in for some last-minute shopping and stayed past closing for the delicious food and wonderful conversations (and even some singing) with the Cassaro's staff. Tucked away in the back of the store, is a nice little restaurant- a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Via Vittorio Emanuele. The manager welcomed us personally and helped us pick out just the perfect bottle of local white wine (made with Grillo grapes) to go with the charcuterie board. The board, tastefully designed by Pippo (the master of the meats and cheeses behind the counter) featured cuts of the salami with pistachio and anise and cheese with the black crust (both a “must try”). Combined with a “dot” of the papaya jam and crusty bread sticks, the experience was just perfect in terms of flavors and textures.
However, as much as we loved the food, it was the people that made us sing along with the “Felicita” that played in the background. Thank you, Cassaro friends.

We stumbled across this place on arrival and enjoyed a fabulous meal of local cheese and charcuterie as well of course as some excellent Sicilian wine. The place seems to be family run and staff were chatty, informative and friendly - eager to tell us about the top class produce on offer. An aperativo on our last night seemed fitting!

This place we entered by chance and it was great. The staff are very happy to inform about their products and wine. The platter of cheese and cold meet was beautifully presented with lovely bread. i think that local organic produce is part of their outlook. Returned for drinks another time and we were given lovely small bruchetti to eat with the wing

We discovered this terrific market the morning of our last day in Palermo. We were headed to Ericé that day and wanted to have a picnic on the road. We had a lot of great meals in Sicily, but we felt the food we found at Cassaro was maybe the best we had. We were fortunate to meet the owner and he asked us what we wanted and he made excellent recommendations for meats, cheeses and the most amazing Tapanade we have ever eaten. The store is well stocked with delicious treats, the staff was helpful and friendly and we left very happy with our items but sad we hadn't found it earlier in our trip. Cassaro will be one of our first stops next time in Palermo

This place has everything, a family that produce their own products like limoncello, and they have this amazing and incredible good energy that Sicilians have, and you just fell in love with them.
Everything is perfect, the store and the food they prepare, the fruits, wine, etc... the energy is great!
It is an obligated stop when you are in Palermo.
You can have a great time inside, calmed and in peace.
And of course, i will back again ;)

You don't have to go to fancy restaurant, this is the place to have a great Sicilian food!We found it randomly on the main Palermo city street. Its a like a deli and shop with tasty local food. Great service from the owner!
