I cannot rate this experience highly enough!! Alessia was such a warm, caring person. Our ride took us through a forest and out onto the beach which was so different to what I’m used to in Australia! The history she provided on the area was fascinating and suggestions on other locations to visit while we were in Rome was extremely helpful! The horses were mostly rescues and were all so gentle, quiet and well looked after. We even got to see wild foxes and some large birds that I had never seen in Australia. Prior to the ride, we met at cafe next to the train station which provided me with a coffee and croissant and was complimentary. I hope Alessia reaches out to me if she is ever in Australia so I can share the same hospitality she provided me!!!

I was visiting a friend who lives in Rome and found this excursion on TripAdvisor. It was wonderful to get out of the busy city, spend some time with the beautiful rescue horses, and explore some of the ancient ruins. I have a fair amount of past riding experience, and was able to trot and canter during the ride which was really nice. My friend does not have past experience, and the instructor/guide was also very helpful with her. We did get started a bit late as some others mentioned, but it really wasn't a big deal as it kind of goes with the culture and more relaxed pace, which is what we were going for with being with animals in nature, etc.. The horses are lovely and well taken care of, and I love that they are rescues. I really appreciated the experience and being back in the saddle :)

We had a wonderful experience in the pine woods near Rome. Alessia picked us up from the station and explained us everything about her horses. We were invited to help preparing the horses and had a relaxed ride through the forest. Finally we had a delicious Roman meal in a nearby restaurant and were carried back to the station. Everything was included in the price we payed. Alessia and her coworkers were very friendly. However we had much trouble with the booking platform yumping where we originally booked the tour. They had published wrong prices and were quite inflexible when recognizing the mistake. So we recommend Cavalieri di Gaia very much, but neuer book via yumping!

We had a great time riding with Alessia! I am an experienced rider and my husband is newer to riding and she made it very comfortable for him and fun for me.We really enjoyed caring for the horses before the ride and also learning about the area while riding on the trail. We would definitely do this again and recommend it to beginners and experienced riders alike.
You can also tell she really cares about the horses, which is awesome to see.
Also the cappuccinos at the meeting point (Gemini XII) are sooooo yummy!

I went with my friend who had no prior riding experience (not recommended, but we didn’t read the full description, oops), but Alessia was more than accommodating for both of our experience levels. She prioritized safety while still ensuring a great experience for both of us. She gave my friend an easy-going horse and gave her a quick riding lesson before we started our ride. My friend and I had the best time and felt like we were hanging out with a friend, while we also learned about history of the land. I wish I could hang out with Alessia and the horses every day. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

Because I only booked the horse riding experience at 10am at 1am in the morning, when I called the host to confirm at 9:45am that day, it was temporarily changed to 11:30am, so I went to ostia beach first and finally it was almost 12:30am, and they drove to the beach to pick me up . Because I have no relevant experience at all, they will first share some experience and skills in feeding and getting along with horses. Then you can ride a horse slowly from the countryside to a nearby beach. Unfortunately, no photos or videos were taken during the process, only these two photos of the final return trip. It was a good experience for me as a newbie. They taught clearly and patiently. If I have more time in the future, I will definitely come again, it was very fun. It is recommended for experienced people to participate. It is not suitable for people with no sports-related experience at all. It may be difficult.

I had such an amazing experience thanks to Alessia, Francesca and Leo! They made sure I felt right at home, and I loved being able to spend time with the horses before and after our ride. To top it all off Ostia Antica was absolutely beautiful and a great way to disconnect from the city. Grazie mille!! <3

This is not just a tour. this is not simply a riding lesson.
This is real culture and an unbelivable experience.
Local heros of the equestrian comunity, the Cavalieri di Gaia do justice to their name and their ancient Roman heritage.
As if Alessias credentials and awards as a world class rider were not enough, the fraternity, love for the land and the luminous personalities running this beautiful stable make this the most incredible, mandatory bucket list kind of adventure.
at the same time you will be treated like family, while experiencing the most proffessional and qualified people the Lazzio countryside have to offer.
On top of that, true nature lovers will apreciatw that the stable runs as a sanctuary for retired horses. your heart will skip a beat when you hear the individual stories of these majestic rescued animals who had quite the celebrity life and pedigree before landing in the care of the Knights of Gaia family for a second chance to keep on living.
If you are thinking about joining them, just do it.

Me and my partner went in August and we are absolutely amazed at the whole experience. We didn't just have a good time out riding with the horses, we were welcomed and treated like friends.
We were in no rush om the way in, so we did a lot of talking and waiting for the rain to stop, and once it did we really enjoyed our trip in the forest of ostia.
The horses are really well cared for and happy. Seeing as it is a sanctuary, they are all old, retired athletes, and when you see Alicia's competence and warmth, anyone would know they're in the right place. These horses were given a second chance and it is clear that Alicia really burns for what she does.
Not only did we go for a ride, but one of our guides, Pietro, was so kind to take us to a local endurance race which was really valuable for us, and we learned a lot about a world we didnt know too much about. At the end of the day we all parted as friends.
I cannot recommend this enough. From the countryside view, the history of the land, the horses and the people... you're in good hands. An amazing experience and we hope to see you all again!
From a touristic point of view, this was as perfect as it could have been. From a human perspective, we will never forget this.

Such fun! We started a bit later than 10 a.m. but we killed time by walking around Ostia and enjoying our free breakfast at Gemini III cafe. Don't forget to let the person behind the counter know you are there to meet Alessia for horseback riding. We were driven to the ranch and met the horses, bonded with the horses by grooming and feeding them, got a quick lesson on riding an English saddle (we are more familiar with the Western saddle - some key differences in riding style), and then proceeded on our ride through the local countryside. Beautiful, relaxing and historic. When we got back we helped cool down the horses and they were set free to graze. We ended our day back in Ostia with the best gelato we had during our week stay in Rome. Don't forget to visit the archeological site as well.

Volevo sapere se era possibile organizzare una passeggiata a cavallo per principianti con due bambini di 10 e 8 anni o se eventualmente ci siano delle proposte per un primo contatto con l'equitazione .

you can easily reach the equestrian center in 30 minutes from the center of the City, you take the underground, line B, direction to Laurentina, and stop at Ostiense, there you change with Freccia del Mare-Ostia Lido train, and stop at Ostia Antica. I also inform you that is possible arrange shuttle service from your hotel and return with private car and driver.

Hi Carlaa, I write to inform you about the duration of the activity is 3-4 hours and it includes meet and groom the horses, naturalistic and archaeological trail with gastronomic tasting, for beginner riders.
