We had a wonderful time learning about the regions olive oil and enjoyed fantastic views of the Sabina Hills. Guido's expertise is vast and he and Sally so kind, we had a wonderful day together!

Thank you for returning for another cooking class and experience with us. It was great to see you again! This time you attended a One Day Italian Cooking Class and Olive Tour Experience and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your time with us. It felt like having a friend return to visit. I am only sorry you did not stay longer!
We hope that you will return again in the near future so we can catch up once more! We hope your art exhibition went really well, upon your return to the States.

This was one of my personal favorite parts of our Roman holiday. We ventured about 45 min (took a taxi there and the train and metro back) into the beautiful countryside of Rome which from photos resembled Tuscany. Sally met us right at the pickup spot in town and there we also met her husband Guido and the two other guests we'd spend the day with. We ventured to see the largest olive tree in Europe and learned about life in this untouched part of the country that's just a short hop from the hustle and bustle of the city. We then headed to Sally and Guido's home where the cooking fun began -- we started with making a traditional Roman dessert and then moved on to homemade pasta and two sauces where all of us had a hand in making our meal. It was simple, delicious and so fun to learn and share stories, taste the delicious ingredients and finally sit down for a meal together. We tasted and compared a couple of different olive oils as well. The day ended with a stroll through the olive field where we learned about the olive oil-making process and so much more.
Tip: If you get car/motion sick, suggest taking something as the roads are a bit bumpy and windy.

You have captured the essence of what we offer and we are so pleased you learnt more about our local Sabina extra virgin olive oil, had fun making 2 traditional Italian dishes, and enjoyed visiting our family home while discovering a new region that looks like Tuscany, yet is a 'stone's throw' from Rome. My family (myself and three adult children) and I had 6 days in Rome and took one of those days to travel to the home of Sally & Guido in the Sabine Hills. Terrific experience with two wonderful people who spent the day teaching us about Italy, Italian cooking & olive oil. We were able to make a delicious lunch of fresh pasta, saltimbocca, and a scrumptious dessert, ricotta torta. We were surrounded by the beautiful backdrop of olive groves and the rolling hills. Couldn't imagine a better day filled with wonderful memories. Thank you, Sally & Guido!

We were recommended to this class by a fellow cooking class chef in Rome. Reluctant to invest a whole day of our holiday, we found it well worth the time. Leadline is as above -- a real Sabine hills setting and casual home, a small cooking class size with a professional chef, and genuine warmth throughout the day. A welcome counterpoint to the Vatican, Borghese, buzzing piazzas, etc. of Rome (especially a relief for our teenager). Cooking class was perfectly paced to our skills, and the olive instruction wandering the groves an excellent add-on. (Take a hat!! it was very hot and sunny on the walk.) Only "warning" is the transport needed to arrive -- we chose a Sunday (fewer train options) and encountered rail "issues" -- however, Sally navigated a workaround, stayed in contact, and we missed the start target by only a half-hour.
We thoroughly enjoyed the day and would recommend it to a wide variety of tourist-types.

We appreciate this comment as it is hard to decide what activities to take when holiday time is usual brief. Thank you for choosing us. We put this special one day program together with this thought in mind as our One day Experience offers a wonderful combination of 2 separate tours brought together in harmony, so you get not only a 2 course cooking class but also get to visit the beautiful Sabine Hills to learn all there is to know about our local high quality extra virgin olive oil. An olive tour and cooking class, plus more, put together. We are glad you found the pace a welcomed change from that of Rome.
Thank you for your note about trains. We are just a 40 minute train ride from Roma Tiburtina station to your meeting point. We send detailed easy-to-follow train directions from your hotel in Rome to your meeting place and make it very clear that you always need to plan for extra travel time especially in the mornings. Train are regular and run every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekend days, so you just need to plan ahead. Trains in Italy run frequently, are well kept, and 95% of the time, are on time. If there are any problems we have our guests contact numbers to keep in touch and guide you as much as we can, to make sure you can get to your meeting point as easily as possible.

Highlight of our trip to Italy! A day we will never forget. Everything was just excellent! They are a very warm hospitable family who happily give you a glimpse of their Italian lifestyle. And your cooking skills will thank you for it as well. Thank You Sally & Guido for a day we will always remember! The perfect combo of relaxing yet learning new things at the same time.

From our original booking until our train station drop off, Guido, Sally & Gemma made us feel part of their family. They were excellent with constant communication. We loved touring the olive tree fields and cooking with Guido. We made the best gnocchi & cheesecake! Spending time at their home and eating our freshly prepared meal with them was one of our highlights of our Italian trip. Grazie!

The Guido and Sally experience was fantastic. From the detailed email communications and flexibility to include more members, to the after care (when I was trying to organise another activity). These guys live in paradise, worth the trip to their place just to see the surrounding villages, castles and monasteries. The cooking class was full of information, entertaining and tasted beautiful. We finished with a walk through an olive grove with tress hundreds of years old and again Guido was very knowledgeable about area, the tress, olives and the olive processing. Highly recommend a tour with this team, a very short trip from rome and well organised.

We loved your passion for olives, and finding out more about our local extra virgin olive oil in this area. The fact that you have an olive grove in New Zealand, your home country, made all the information about our local olive oil even more relevant and we are so pleased we could answer your questions about extra virgin olive oil and Italian Cooking during your day with us.
We had a fabulous group and everyone really got on well. It was like having a party with friends as the day progressed.

Guido and Sally were genuine, welcoming, warm, patient and informative. We learned so much. They especially were gracious with my daughter and her two-year-old daughter.. My granddaughter was invited to be a part of the cooking class and was allowed to chase their dog during the olive grove tour! We learned to make wonderful Italian dishes as well as general Italian cooking tips, and learned a lot about olive oil and olive trees. We will forever have fond memories of Guido, Sally and Gemma. We recommend this tour highly.

Thank you for your wonderful review of the day you and your family (3 generations!) enjoyed with us. It was a pleasure to meet you all and we are pleased we could involve all of you in our cooking and touring experience. You and your family were part of a wonderful small group and you all got on so well together (even thought half of you had not meet the others before the tour). It was like having a party in our home while involving everyone to participate in Guido's hands-on Italian cooking class, enjoying lunch together and then taking a stroll together in our next door olive grove (with Rocky our dog enjoying coming along too) for the afternoon olive tour.

Sally and Guido provided an EXCELLENT full day experience for us comprised of tours of local olive groves and a cooking lesson. In the lead up to the day, communication with them was also excellent and details were provided for all aspects of the planned activity (from how to get to their country home from Rome, train schedules, complementary transportation from the train station to their home, all costs, etc.). We joined other travellers (in total 7 adults plus one child) for a lovely day. The hands-on in making gnocchi and ricotta pie following Nonna’s recipes was so authentic! Their home including veranda with stunning views of the mountains and valleys provided an excellent back drop for the meal. A must see and do experience that got us out of the city for a day, not to be missed.

We are so pleased that you really enjoyed your One Day Italian Cooking Class and Olive Tour Experience with us last week. You were such a great group and it felt like we were having a party with you all as the day progressed! We love it when we can place small groups of guests together on our Experiences as everyone is out to have a good time (from the time we meet you at our local train station to when we return you to our station to take one of the frequent trains back to Rome). It was fun for us too.
