Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Roma Capitale is a small museum, with rotating pieces from the museum’s collection as well as temporary exhibits. We went in November 2022 for one euro on the night of "Music in Museums." While the particular music performed was not to our taste, we really enjoyed the "Pasolini Pittore" exhibit, one of several exhibits in Rome this year to mark what would have been the poet and filmmaker's 100th birthday, as well as the Sten Lex pieces in the courtyard. [Note: several of the reviews and photos posted on TA for this art museum are clearly for a different museum, the much larger Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GNAM).]

A shocker. No paintings on display August 2022, just a few rooms of TV screen videos. Plus a few sculptures. The real gallery for modern art is in Borghese Gardens [Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea], which is excellent. Best thing about GAM was nearby Cafe Lembo, up the street

You've stood in lines and seen all of the famous stuff. Where to go next? If you have a free hour or so, and you're in the area, I'd suggest this lovely little museum of Modern Art. It's small, but packed with some amazing works by people you've never heard of, but whose works should be seen and appreciated. While we were there, there was a collection focused on how women are reflected in art, which was very interesting. I suppose the exhibits change all of the time, but I'd keep my eye on this one. Refreshing, without crowds of people, at least during our visit.

This is a small, very accessible museum. We love Modern art but were not familiar with many of the Italian artists from this period (between the two world wars). The collection here includes expressionists, futurists, pointillists and aeropainters. Now I have a list of artists that I want to learn more about. Very enjoyable.

We had the Roma Pass and went to this gallery which includes Van Gogh, Miro, Monet, Jackson Pollock, & Degas included. We could not get in the Borghese Gallery because you need a reservation and the people at the Borghese gallery were rude about it.Everyone was polite at this gallery. There is only 1 painting from each of the artists named but seeing the different types of art arranged together was great. Also there are no crowds at this gallery. This is free with Roma pass or 10 euros without.Enjoy!

Lesser known museum, but worth a visit for a varied collection of Italian modern art. Currently, there are two exhibitions: 1. Amin Gulgee's works inhabit the indoor and outdoor spaces offering a meditative and calming energy; 2. Roma modern city. From Nathan to 1968 offers a glimpse into a city that - despite the richness of a glorious past - does not sit still, but grows and morphs in a unique fashion, as an endless palimpsest, blending past with the modern, and reinventing itself, always surprising... Absolutely fabulous and not to be missed the 3-screen film UNA CITTÀ CHE CAMBIA (A city that changes): visual feast of the changes in the eternal city from the breach of Porta Pia in 1870 up to the period after WWII.

This visit was a real highlight of our trip. The building itself is gorgeous - huge with lots of space and its relatively quiet - you really feel separate from the hordes of tourists that you encounter at all the major sites. The collection is brilliantly curated - so thoughtfully put together and displayed. We enjoyed experiencing some new Italian artists that we didn't know. But also seeing some of the greats of the 19th and 20th Centuries. Cleverly put together with some more modern works. Can't recommend this one enough.

We must admit that we ran into this place because of a sudden downfall of rain just blocks from the Spanish Steps but were impressed with the facilities, the quality of the collections and also a terrific current exhibition on a retrospective Italian impressionists. Also watched a fascinating film on the city's and gallery's modern art history particularly during the Mussolini fascist era. There were maybe ten other visitors in the entire place on a late Saturday morning. For the price (7.50 euros each) it was a lovely gallery experience.

A good little museum with a limited collection. We liked the 19th and 20C portraits and landscapes they had on display, but wished there had been a little more.

This is an underrated museum filled with enjoyable exhibits and architectural wonders. Being and engineer, this was and exceptional day of unique exhibits. There is a lot of walking here but well worth the steps. come and see these less known artists and be surprised.
