Located Piazza di Ponte Umberto I, near Tiber river, in an ancient palace, this museum is famous, decorated with statues, a torse of Napoleon, Paolina; many paintings, elegant furnitures, chandeliers, privat tools; a very interesting museum.

Went to this little museum a few blocks north of the Palazzo Navona. It's free to get in (they do ask for donations) and only takes 1/2 - 1 hour to go through depending on how detailed you want to get. It's a nice little place but is definitely not something to go out of your way to see. If you are a serious Francophile or want to know more about the Napoleon family (Napoleon I, II and III) plus other members of the family than this will be for you. Each room has a page describing the room available in Italian, French and English and some of the pieces on display have descriptions in all 3 languages but some are only in Italian.

This was not in our original itinerary but we thought why not, since it was so close to our apartment. Interesting exhibits all about Napoleon and his family. There were even his outfits which was amazing. Free to enter and not crowded at all.

Definitely worth it. 50 Impressionist paintings displayed for first time. Nice venue. Wasn’t crowded.

In Rome there's so much to see... and surely most tourists don't plan to visit this small (free) museum.
But if you are nearby, this private collection (donated to Municipality) of Napoleon memorabilia is very interesting.
Obviously in another town, this place should deserve a higher rate.
I visited the Napoleon museum in Ajaccio (not free). As I remember (???) there were more uniforms and weapons (not sure they belonged to Napoleon or they were vintage).

Here no book shop or gadgets. Just real stuff collected by the family in a beautiful building.

Treasure hunt... search the jewel with true Napoleon's hair !

Awesome museum to go to, it was so interesting to see the connection Napoleon had with Italy. There’s no fee to come inside which is great too!

This museum was the best. Many paintings, busts, furniture and artifacts from the rule of Napoleon's family in Italy. If you're a history buff you'll really like it.

Wandering around Rome, we stumbled upon this little Napoleon Museum and decided to go in, mostly because it was free to enter.

We only spent about 20 or so minutes, I estimate, but saw a few interesting items and enjoyed the building it was housed in.

Ah, serendipity.

Free museum in which one can learn a lot about the links between the Bonaparte family and Rome. I particularly enjoyed seeing the books Napoleon carried with him to the island of st helena, his final exile.
