This is a place that is recommended by all travel guides about Leon but you can visit it very quickly, it is small, there is not much to see. In 5 minutes you are finished. It costs no entrance. The seats have a heating system, my friend said it is the only church with heated seats in the world? Well, cool.

I didn't know what to expect from this Medieval church. The Pantheon is a world class Medieval ceiling painting. It is untouched from its original creation. The story of Christ and the arch of the calendar.
Lastly, the chalice from the last supper? Recently proven, it was ransacked from Jerusalem in the 1000s.
Recommended site.

Impressive and well preserved Romanesque cloister which is part of the San Isidore church complex - an essential stop on the Camino de Santiago.

I loved my tour around this museum - it's really compact, so does not require a long visit. The freschi are wonderful and so well preserved with colours that are still vibrant after all these years. The other highlight is the chalice (said to have been used at The Last Supper). The cloisters are also nice to walk around.

The only way to visit was with a guided tour. There is much to see in this Romanesque edifice, but the highlight were the well-preserved frescoes from the late 11th and early 12th centuries.

We arrived on Dec. 24th at 1:30 pm, we had to join a spanish tour, (we don't speak spanish) we didn't have the feeling of being welcomed at all, the guide and her colleague gave us very succinct explanations of where we were, shouted at us when we tried to make a picture of a basin in stone. We were very disappointed, we still were glad to have seen the museum especially the paintings, but if people don't like their job, they shouldn't do it.

We enjoyed seeing the important treasures at the San Isidore museum. You must take the tour. We accidentally arrived late and got onto the Spanish tour. They did have printed materials to help with following the tour in Spanish. A must-see for Leon visitors.

This is a lovely Romanesque church built in the 11th Century. It is classy and understated and small unlike the beautiful Cathedral of León. We found it very peaceful and welcoming. The priests seem very kind.
