Not worth the effort
Agt 2020 • Pasangan
Extremely busy, rocky beach swarming with people. Feels commercialised with a restaurant and jewellery stalls - definitely not a ‘hidden gem’ or secluded. Water disappointed us with a lot of rubbish closer to the shore. Parking is a nightmare! Barely any parking so you have to park quite far up the steep and winding road with a 10 min walk down. Police were present on our trip and giving people parking tickets. There are much nicer/more relaxing places to visit.

However, we did take a wrong turning on our way and drove into Deia town which is absolutely stunning and definitely worth a visit!

Unimpressed
Okt 2019
While staying in Deia we hiked down and were unimpressed overall. There was black seaweed and did not appear appealing to swim in. It sort of stunk as well. We stayed in Deia and were so glad we rented a villa with a pool as I would of been super disappointed to count on this area for a swim. If you are going to be driving or paying to visit here, I would consider other beaches and attractions that Mallorca has to offer.

Lovely Cove - Parking Busy, Walking Spectacular, Food Fab
Okt 2019 • Pasangan
A spectacular round walk down from Deia on two old paths, walking boots preferred. Rocky beach was very busy, the water is clear and it’s great for swimming or snorkelling. Difficult to walk on the rocks and even if you are driving down consider some comfy shoes. Parking is very busy and limited. 2 great beach restaurants service local food, great fish (sardines, langoustines, calamari) Really beautiful setting - definitely worth the hike if you can make it.

Rocks and seaweed
Okt 2019 • Teman
A thick blanket of smelly seaweed and slippery boulders make it very difficult to get into the water, or even just sunbathe.

Parking is limited. On foot it's an arduous trek down from Deia and up again.

Give this disappointing spot a miss.

Worth the effort
Sep 2019
A small cove with two bar/restaurants. Very picturesque and although we visited in September still very busy, so if you want to eat at the restaurants you should book ahead. You can walk from Deia (about 50 minutes steep walk, but worth it for the views) or there's a car park close by. However, the police were stopping people going down as it was full by 12.00.

Long drive to this cove, driving down the hill to the beach we met a lot of coming cars in which we had to pull over the road is so small large suvs will have trouble we had to reverse multiple times, once arriving at the bottom, all the parking spaces were blue parking so had to pay to park per hour, then a short little walk to the cove/beach, when we arrived it was very windy and rough water, we climbed along the rocks minding the People as it was very busy, we then found a spot dropped our stuff and headed into the water, very very difficult to get Into the water as the rocks on the shoreline, once in the water was so low visibility and could not sea anything. We decided to head back to shore when trying to get in myself and partner fell over and cut and bruised all our legs. As the waves come crashing in and smash you against the rocks multiple times like I said this day we went was very rough sea. But as I have seen from the photos I believe it could be good if the sea was calm, unfortunately we picked the wrong day to go. There are 2 restaurants here which do hot food and ice creams, and drinks. My advice is to check the weather forecast and wind before heading to this beach and bring first aid pack.

Cannot Swim Here!
Agt 2019 • Keluarga
We mapped out a day trip based on stopping to swim in afternoon here. Spent 30 mins with google maps trying to find turn off - drove down the winding road (thankfully my husband thought this part was good fun!). We then trudged another 15 minutes in sweltering heat to find this “glorious” beach, even passing a advertisement sign in the carpark, showing kids swimming in turquoise waters. Arrived at the beach to find:

1. Water dark black with fungus type substance - it was not similar to any type of seaweed I’ve previously seen;
2. Rocks only, with no sand - not a pebble beach, large rocks;
3. Large waves crashing throughout our 2-hour stay against the rocks making entry into the water impossible;
4. Not one single person swam during our visit;
5. Most people ended up having a drink/meal in one of the two restaurants with the understandable attitude “sure-we’re-here-now, lets-make-the-most-of-it”;
6. Lots of groups (not just families) arriving with normal beach paraphernalia with v v disappointed faces upon realizing they’ve been dooped into coming here;

This is a nice beauty spot but nothing in comparison to other spots throughout Mallorca. It is entirely unfair to describe this as a beach - rocky outcrop would be more appropriate. I am very skeptical about all the positive reviews and wonder about their objectivity!

Went in the evening. Only went for swim. My husband went in but my son and I chose not to. It’s very dirty around the rocks and overcrowded. I’m sure it can be nice when out of season etc. There are many nicer places to go but that’s my opinion.

Do not go here without a car
Agt 2019
Staying at Palma Nova on the other side of the island. Was recommended by our hotel to visit Cala Deia Beach. It was a 50min cab ride, and 50€ to get here.
The beach is beautiful to look at however is is all rocks and boulders and no sand so quite hard to sit/find a spot.
Once sitting we noticed there was no one swimming. The beach was full of jelly fish.
We immediately wanted to leave - so had to walk up to the top of the mountain to Deia. This was a huge climb in 40 degree heat and took 30 mins. Once at the top there are only 2 taxis that service the town and there was a 3 hour wait.
DO NOT GO WITHOUT A CAR.
This was a horrible experience - by chance we begged a driver to take us back to Palma after waiting over an hour for a bus that never came.
Seriously scarred from this!
