The wavy Palio is not an original idea, but it looks great here...
Des 2019
The territory of the two piers of the port, which was gentrified in 2011, is a good example of the integration of the port and the city. This is not easy, given that the port assumes security. The name of the new embankment "Palm surprise" was given to 400 palm trees, but the most striking object is a designer canopy. The wavy Palio is not an original idea, such as can be seen in Seville, Toledo and even in Malaga itself on Larios street. However, in combination with the straight line of the coast, the blue sky and the sea, it all looks great...

Pompidou, Melilla y Cosas!
Des 2019
The port of Malaga is one of the oldest in the world and is now probably the most important cruise ship terminal on the Iberian peninsula. Until recently the area was off limits to tourists and certainly never featured on our frequent visits to the hometown of Antonio Banderas. The harbour also services, on a daily basis, the Spanish autonomous city of Melilla on the North Africa coast. It is a pleasant stroll from pedestrianised Calle Larios, the main shopping area in the city centre, to Muello Uno, a vibrant complex with a variety of contemporary shops cafes restaurants and probably the jewel in the crown down there, the hard to miss, futuristic looking Pompidou Centre. La Farola is one of the most famous lighthouses in Spain and it stands prominently at the end of the complex and merits a visit for those interested in maritime history. On the way down the Palmeral is a pretty promenade lined with palm trees, fountains, public art, restaurants and some luxury yachts are often moored there that would not feel out of place in Monaco. The city that once turned its back on the harbour has thoughtfully transformed the area and it was the highlight of our latest visit to Malaga, a city which continues to reinvent itself, always for the better. When an effective vaccine becomes available, Malaga, Melilla and La Carihuela will again feature prominently in our holiday planning schedule.

THE PLACE JUST TO STROLL
Mar 2020
This is a modern harbour-side promenade with some bars and restaurants and a good place just to stroll. The wavy roof feature is unusual and there are street performers to serenade you as you stroll. The gardens just back from the promenade are a little unkempt but provide for pleasant shaded strolls past the fountains and obelisks.

A great place to chill or have a walk, some nice architecture, quite a few eateries and a busy little area of the city.

Excellent promenade along the port.
Feb 2020
This is an excellent walkway (long) along with the port leading finally to the Playa de la Malagueta, and the Pompidou Centre and the shopping/eating area after that.
Modern design and architecture is commendable. It is a beautiful promenade. Good for people-watching, stroll with family towards the sunset, or just hanging out to enjoy the views from different cafes along the way.

Just a nice waterside strall
Okt 2019
The architecture by the waterside is really nice and the first impression as a walking / jogging place is spot on! Not much to offer but beautiful area to pass some relaxed time

Nice walk
Feb 2020 • Keluarga
Nice place to walk and watch people - mostly tourists though... please also take a stroll in the beautiful park on the other side of the road, away from the harbour.

To modern
Feb 2020
For me this is to modern in such an old and historical part of the city. I think it would be better if it wasn't there (but thats just me)

A nice stroll along the seafront
Feb 2020
Walking the Palmeral de las Sorpresas is a must if you are in Malaga. You walk along the seafront and along the way you find many places to rest and enjoy the view. You can walk out to the lighthouse. Along the way you will find cafes.
