This old galleried inn was known to Cervantes. Now it has been restored and houses a good Flamenco museum.

The Flower Festa was happening the weekend we were in Cordoba and there was a interesting arrangement of dried branches that filled the space. It was something we happened upon which is always a nice surprise when travelling.

The Posada del Potro is open to the public and displays anything you need to know about the Flamenco, typical for Andalusia. You get picturesque views of typical architecture.

The building is nice and the museum very informative but if you're not interested in flamenco it won't be the best time spent. Well worth the visit, it's free anyway, and you can also play some interactive games...

March 2017. our favoritie stop of the day, This historic rectangular square, which slopes down towards the Guadalquivir River, is named after the fountain with a small prancing horse on top and was once used as an equestrian livestock market. The medieval Posada del Potro, on the south side of the square, was a known haunt of adventurers and a favourite of Cervantes which he wrote about in Don Quixote.

This historic rectangular square, which slopes down towards the Guadalquivir River, is named after the fountain with a small prancing horse on top and was once used as an equestrian livestock market.

The medieval Posada del Potro, on the south side of the square, was a known haunt of adventurers and a favourite of Cervantes which he wrote about in Don Quixote.

The inn, typical of the time, on two floors built around a narrow cobbled courtyard, the upper floor with a gallery and wooden pillars and balconies. It is now a centre for the study of flamenco, the Centro Flamenco Fosforito, named after the famous singer Antonio Fernandez Diaz Fosforito.

Opposite the inn, in a converted 15th-century Franciscan charity hospital there are two museums, the Museo Bellas Artes and the Museo Julio Romero de Torres, the former home of the Cordoban painter.

I think this is the prettiest square of Cordoba, but all the old streets are pretty and well cared for with their colourful flower pots and window boxes. It is just nice to wander around and steep yourself in the ancient and modern history of the city.

It was a rainy day so an excellent place to stop off and spend an hour- not just exhibits in glass cabinets but interactive experience where you can learn about the dance moves and the guitar and hand clapping for each rhythm. you can see how a guitar is made and all the different types over the years . I really wanted to see a section about the dresses and costumes which is the only thing that was missing here. It was free when we visited but not sure it is always free
