Исторический сюжет Дюссельдорфа. Historical plot of Dusseldorf.
Okt 2020
Монумент связанный с получением Дюссельдорфом статуса города и отражает историю связанную с этим событием. В интернете это описано достаточно подробно. От себя добавлю, что детали памятника тщательно проработаны и его интересно рассматривать. The monument is associated with obtaining Dusseldorf city status and reflects the history associated with this event. This is described in sufficient detail on the Internet. I would like to add that the details of the monument are carefully worked out and it is interesting to consider it.

I was there. Actually the sculpture is nice, but it is always dirty and I cannot say that was really worth to see.

Commemorating the bloody Battle Of Worringen in 1288 when Dusseldorf was granted its rights as a city the Stadterhebungsmonument was the work of sculpture Bert Gerresheim and was unveiled in 1988 ,700 years after this momentous and terrible battle.
The sheer detail of this monument is amazing ,it shows the slaughter ,terror and rage of close up hand to hand fighting ,its one of the most stunning monuments I've ever seen ,never tire of seeing this monument on any trip I take to this city on the River Rhine.
The Stadterhebungsmonument is easy to locate and Burgplatz and is most definitely well worth checking out if your wandering around the wonderful Old Town ( Altstadt ).

Do not walk by
Agt 2019
It is worth to stop and study its details. Unfortunately, unless you study in advance, you will probably miss the context.

A tribute to the city
Agt 2019
A monument erected to the city in honor of it's medieval history tucked in a corner in a square. A tour will include this, and the history it represents.

It's definitely worth to have a look at this.
On first sight on might just walk by, but the longer one looks the more details are revealed. I always challenge friends to find the mustard jar, the gun ("what does not fit at all with respect to the time displayed?") and so on.
HIstory...even without having knowledge about details...is "nicely" compressed and illustrated.

A quite disturbing monument, revealing the intensely brutal slaughter, in unbelievable detail
Apr 2019 • Teman
The Stadterhebungsmonument, made by Bert Gerresheim, is hidden away in a corner in the old town (Altstadt) close to a bridge, commemorates the award of the city rights to Düsseldorf in 1288 and the bloody Battle of Worringen, in which Dusseldorf won its independence in on June 5th, 1288. The monument was built in 1988 on the occasion of the 700th anniversary celebration of the battle.

The monument consists of three distinct but interconnected sections, arranged chronologically one after the other and intended to be read from left to right. The craftmanship is remarkable and all the violence, cruelty and the horrors of war are impressively on show. The seal of the decree of the city takes pride of place in centre, with the monk, Walter Dodde, goading local farmers to go into battle with their rustic weapons, hammers and sickles. The 3rd section on the right glorifies the economic success of the city, symbolized by merchandise, agricultural products, beer bottles and crates of groceries, food and especially fish.

This is quite a disturbing monument, that reveals the intensely brutal slaughter, with unbelievably detailed and complex figures - a bit like a German technical manual - many big issues but perhaps a bit tortured overall? Those of a delicate disposition might like to look away now – truly the stuff of children’s nightmares.
