A quiet park for a walk around a lake in the city but nothing more. Overall feel is not so well maintained, and otherwise there are many better parks to spend time in.

As Tourist who enjoyed a mild weather in December I went for a walk... Nice park with a lake... Quite wild for being in the middle of big City and I liked it!!!!

This is a large park with a lake, large areas of grass and trees - in many ways a typical city park. However the cafe area in particular seems to attract a poor/homeless clientele. No beggars but this part of the park seemed very run down with iron bars on the windows of a shabby cafe building. I ordered a beer which was served in the bottle rather than a glass, but at 1.20 euros it wasn't pricey. Most of the clientele were men with long beards or other marks of poverty. I certainly wasn't threatened but those of a nervous disposition might find this area uncomfortable. Walking round the lake and the grassed areas with trees is fine but the botanical section maybe not a place for ladies on their own. I hate to seem snobbish but I speak as I find.
Once there was a bridge over the railway lines leading down to the river but it has been closed for safety reasons.
