I walked past this place and found the architecture to be modern and interesting.
The building is built around the remains of an ancient wall, which is unusual.
It is a convention center and is open when there are events going on.

Two day conference. Really fantastic venue main hall has very good acoustics and have flexible arrangements.

We just held a sales conference in the Darmstadtium and were really impressed by the facilities and the service. Very nice main conference room - great sound system and lighting - and fantastic catering services. Meeting rooms were light and airy with big windows and lots of natural light.
There are a lot of stairs and lots of levels and it can seem a bit of a maze, but on the whole, it's an excellent conference venue.
However it's NOT a tourist attraction.

Visited for a conference and found the venue to be really nice. Not only is the building functional and attractive, it is in a great area with the old city wall made part of the building, the old castle across the street, the great Welcome Hotel next door, many nice restaurants in the area, and the Mathildenhoehe complex a reasonable walk up the street.

This place is huge, it hosts different events throughout the year. Great facilities and lecture rooms. Very modern design.

Popped in for a quick visit. Came upon this really cool building built around an ancient stone wall. Then I noticed the mansion across the street reflects onto the glass of Darmstadium so I got some cool pics. That always makes me happy.

Darmstadium is the conference center in Darmstadt and offers very modern meeting rooms with all the necessary technique and equipment - from large to small. You can also book single small meeting rooms for a short meeting.
Very good architectural work in a fusion of an extremely modern building directly set in front of the old city walls.
The restaurant offers good and solid food at a reasonable price. In house catering is not so good, tho.
Parking is very convenient at Karolinenplatz as you can access the building directly from there.

It's a congress centre. The architecture is quite striking from outside and functional from the inside. But why would you want to go inside? (unless, of course you were attending a congress)
