Aaron was a great guide to the city and it’s history. He is extremely knowledgable and personable, friendly and flexible... an all round nice guy. It was a private tour for me, my father, brother and sister. We had already seen some sites before the tour so Aaron adapted the tour to us and also answered all our questions so knowledgeably. He used great visual aids with old photos to give us context and detail about certain facts and points of interest. He is enthusiastic and passionate about what he does and this comes through. We decided to take a toilet and refreshments with a couple of beers, he was great company, accommodating and easy going throughout. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

I highly recommend this experience as a private tour. My guide for the day was Paul, who was punctual, very knowledgeable on all aspects of the history relating to this tour, and was able to answer any question I had. The train trip out to the site was spent explaining the history and placing the events into context, which made the impact of visiting the site more meaningful. I recommend an early departure (I was picked up at 0830), meaning you get out to the site by about 1000 when there is hardly anybody else there. Note that there is about a 15-20 minute walk from the train station to Sachsenhausen, therefore I recommend dressing appropriately for the conditions on the day. We discovered when we got out there (no fault of the tour company) that all the buildings are closed on Monday’s during the winter months. It is, however, possible to see in through the windows to get a sense of what occurred. Despite this, we were able to wander freely around under Paul’s expert guidance. The whole tour took about five hours and I was returned back to my hotel. All in all, the tour was efficient, well organised and very informative.

What a fantastic introduction to Berlin. Our guide, Irish Paul, kept the tour to our pace and tailored it to our interests. We finished the tour with a greater knowledge and understanding of prewar Berlin and the city we see today. Berlin is actually not attractive. It is grungy and graffitied. Paul took us through areas of the city that had such compelling history that we were able to see Berlin in a new light which put everything we saw into perspective. Highly recommended tour.

Possibly with the Canadian guide Chris. It’s not easy to guide people that barely know the history of nazi regime. What happened here is still object of study and not completely clear. Chris gives you the right key to understand the place and what happened. My sons and my wife were captured by the visit.

Just came back from our first trip to Berlin and cannot recommend Your Tour Berlin enough!
We took the Private Berlin History tour with Aaron and visited all of the main sites spanning all of the historical epochs of the city, as well as a few "off the beaten track".
Great guide, incredible history and also some really superb recommendations for the remainder of our stay.

We took the Private Third Reich Berlin walking tour with Your Tour Berlin, and I must say it was fantastic.
Our tour guide, Aaron, provided us with an incredible and thought provoking overview of Berlin from 1933-1945 and beyond. The knowledge and information available was impressive.
Highly recommended indeed!

Aaron is a formidable tour guide with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the geography and history of this unique city.
He spent almost five hours with my husband, our niece and me bringing the history, both medieval and modern, to life as we walked around Berlin. Our niece was born long after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain and thus was not brought up with the threat of Cold War, or the concept of an East and West Germany. Aaron was fantastic at talking her through the background to it all, and was able to recommend further reading, museum visits etc to develop our knowledge and understanding of Berlin, and Germany.
A friendly happy character, and lots of fun to spend five hours with.
A heartfelt thanks to you Aaron.

My aunt and I didn’t have many expectations for the tour (we had signed up for it the night before) besides wanting to learn more and we were absolutely blown away. Aaron makes the history come to life in a way that is humane, down to earth and accessible. The pace, imparting of information and tone was absolutely spot on and he got to know each and every single one of us equally. Lots of insightful anecdotes told throughout the day which made the weight of the history more digestible, and catered for interests for all present. Aaron was so informative, didn’t patronise and answered every question with a genuine interest and passion to help others understand and come to terms with the events leading up to the formation and and existence of the camp. He also gave us a really great recommendation for a place for dinner which we absolutely loved - thank you! Unforgettable experience and completely worth it - would recommend to any one keen to learn more.

I could not recommend this tour enough. Aaron, who is an archaeologist, really knows his stuff, and his passion really shines through.
We were taken through 800 years of history - from when Albert the Bear conquered the city, when Napoleon stormed through the Brandenburg Gate and the spot where Hitler and his wife committed suicide at the end of the war - you can only really appreciate this city if you understand the context of its buildings and monuments.
Aaron was great fun too and gave us lots of recommendations for the rest of our stay.
