Thoroughly recommended. In addition to being able to enter the room where the surrender was officially signed, there are excellent informative exhibitions focusing on the German - Russian front. Definately worth the trip.

Very interesting and relevant to learn more about the situation at the Eastern Front during WW2. So much information and material to take in! Outside are some tanks and other military material, unique to see, fitting with the theme and well maintained.

Way off the beaten path - neighbourhood is residential and bus access. Parking available. Happy to see the UKR flag outside. Nice outside display of armour and vehicles. Inside was ok. Somber atmosphere with the present world situation.

This is quite a small museum and it‘s quite hard to get to. I ended up skipping the inside exhibition due to time and only looking around the outside, which had some really thought-provoking and informative information about the treatment of Soviet POWs and labourers during WW2. Would recommend a visit if you‘re into WW2 history.

Small but well laid out and thoughtfully designed museum. A bit off the beaten path but admission is free so worth a quick visit if you are in the area. The website has not been updated to reflect changes in COVID restrictions.

The museum is situated in Karlshorst about 10 kilometers east of Berlin Mitte. There is a bus stop in front of the museum, which is the place where the unconditional surrender was signed on 9th May 1945. Today the museum is jointly managed by Germany, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

Entrance is free, but when we visited a time slot reservation was mandatory, so check actual regulations before you go.

Apart from the impressive room where the surrender was signed, the museum has a large number of interesting exhibits, giving great insight in the war from both German and Soviet perspectives. A Soviet T34 tank is on show outside.

I visited on a pleasant, sunny January day. Since he weather was nice, I walked from Tierpark U-bahn station (U5) as I wanted to see some of the old Soviet military buildings that were in the area. It took about 20 minutes. I could have taken the tram/bus to get here on public transport though.
The museum is small but, well cared for and well curated. They have lockers for backpacks, coats etc and clean toilets downstairs.
The main hall where the surrender was signed is the main attraction. However, Marshal Zhukov’s office is pretty cool to see also. The exhibits in the upstairs galleries do a great job of relaying the sombre story of the Eastern front, the toll it took on the civilian population and the battle for Berlin. Outside are some static military vehicles and a section of the Berlin wall.
I left via the bus (five-minute trip) to S-bahn station Karlshorst (S3/S5).

Located at the historic site of the surrender of the German Armed Forces on 8 May 1945, the museum recalls the war of annihilation against the Soviet Union. Small but interesting museum, free entry.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Berlin and like history. The museum looks really small from the outside but the exhibition upstairs is really detailed and full of stuff. I felt that the intended layout to follow could have been better signposted as I think we ended up viewing upstairs back to front... which meant that the effort someone had gone to in setting up the exhibitions partly lost its effect.

This museum isnt as far out as I've read some people day.
You can either take the s3 sbahn to karlshorst or you can take the ubahn to tierpark (u5) and then take the bus a few stops. It doesnt take long at all to get there from central Berlin.

The museum is free as well so no complaints at all. I think it is great that this place still exists and hasn't been pushed out the way. Yes it contains much propaganda but that is the point of it. It contains relics from the Soviet era and it gave me a chance to see posters and relics that I hadnt seen before in any other war museum (in or outside Berlin).

*Some stuff is mainly in German and Russian but a lot of items have a small English text beside them.

What a little gem. It’s quite a trek but well worth it. The museum is situated in a nice suburb of Berlin but the real surprise is inside. In a city where so much history has been obliterated by bombing to see the actual place where the Nazis’s surrendered to the Allies is quite something. The museum is free and well laid out. Each display has an English translation.
