We had our first ski lessons at Des Planards and we found the area to be great for beginners. We also went on the luge, which was good fun as long as you're not behind people who go slow! My 8 year old loved the ride, but its not automated so you can manually brake. She went on 4 times in all and 3 of them were frustrating as the people in front were very slow and so it prevents you from gaining full speed. As other people have noted - its worth buying a few tickets in advance.

You’ve got to go down the luge in Chamonix. It was so much fun. The kids really loved it. You can go in pairs or as a single rider - your choice. It worth buy additional tickets for more than one ride, especially if you’re family, as it’s worth doing twice and becomes cheaper. The other attractions are pricey but the kids enjoyed them as well.

I drove from Geneva .. The weather was a bit hot .. sunny day .. however the kids liked the place .. the only thing is the slide where we enjoyed a lot ..
I see the price for the slide and other games are reasonable..
two hours were enough I believe .. but for kids never enough
It would be good to visit if u r around Chamonix ..

We would have to agree with other reviews that the only reason to go to Planards it go to on the luge.
We first attempted to go to Planards on a weekday morning in August on a hot and sunny day. We arrived at about 10.50am which was a bit of a mistake as it was already busy. I dread to think what it would have been like later in the day when google suggested it would be extremely busy.
We had walked into Chamonix so didn’t have to park but there was a big car park just by the amusement park although it looked busy.
It was a bit unclear what to do - there was a queue of people for the machine selling luge tickets and then a manned ticket booth selling luge tickets (and presumably wrist bands for the toboggan?). Then there were separate machines selling tokens for the other non-luge rides. We decided to queue up at the manned ticket booth because we had buy one get one free tickets for the luge with our multi pass. So we queued there. The queue didn’t look that long but it barely moved. And after half an hour we finally got to be served and got our 4 tickets plus the 4 free ones. By then the queue for the luge looked horrific and we just couldn’t be bothered to queue any more with a 5 and 7 year old in tow. So we asked if the luge tickets could be used another day and she said yes. When we looked at the tickets it looked like they expired a year later in 2020? So we decided to buy some tokens for the small rides just to appease the boys. The first thing they did was put tokens in the small motorbikes which you can ride around a small track very slowly. One motorbike worked for about 30 seconds before stopping whilst the other one continued for about 3 minutes. So we had an upset child and had to use another token on a different bike which worked for longer. There were a few vaguely exciting rides but you had to be 7 or older so that upset our 5 year old. In the end we got sick of it all as it all seemed so useless and rubbish and money grabbing somehow and so we just left with two upset boys in tow.
We went back later in the holiday making sure we arrived before 10am. We parked in the car park - it seemed to be free as far as we could tell although this meant that lots of
People were parking in it and not going to the amusement park. So it was a busy car park.
As we’d already bought our luge tickets, this meant we could queue up straight away. We started queuing at 9.50am and were about 20th in the queue. We had finished our first ride by 10.15 and our second by 10.30 but by then it was getting a bit busy so we didn’t end up using our other tickets. We’ll hopefully come back to Chamonix next year to use them up. We will be able to have another two rides each as you go on the luge in twos when you have children with you.
I didn’t really know what a luge was, but it turns out it’s a sort of toboggan for two which goes down on rails a bit like a rollercoaster. I can’t say I was looking forward to it as I am scared on roller coasters and when we went on one in Disney world I burst into tears afterwards!
The difference here is that I was in control of the speed of the luge - if you push the levers forward you go faster, and if you pull them back you go slower. My husband and 5 year old went in the luge behind which was reassuring as I knew they wouldn’t slam into the back of me even if I went a bit slower than most people. It was actually good fun - it turns out that one of the reasons I don’t like rollercoasters is because I’m out of control. Whereas with this I could slow down a bit on the corners. The first time down I probably did go a bit slowly although both boys still enjoyed it. But the second time I went a lot faster, possibly about the same speed as a normal person, and I didn’t mind because I knew I was always in control. So it turned out to be my favourite rollercoaster and the boys loved it and raved about it.
It was a bit cold as you go up in the luge at the start even though it was a sunny hot day.
You can apparently buy photos of yourself on the luge but you have to insert a token even before you see the picture so we didn’t bother.
We tried to use up the rest of our tokens but there was very little our 5 year old could go on compared with our 7 year old so we ended up wasting another two and not even spending our last one.
We went to the toilets but there was a big queue even at that early time so we didn’t bother.
Overall we didn’t really like Planards and my husband actively hated it, but the luge was great fun if you get there early enough and have already bought your tickets in advance.

The luge here is really fun and well maintained. You can get an hour ticket for 19 euros, where you are guaranteed 4 rides. You can go as fast as you want, as long as you keep a distance from the people in front. When we went, it got pretty busy after 10:30, so I would recommend getting there before it opens.

We always stop here to do the luge when in town. The rest of the attractions are probably not worth the price, but the luge is the best. Make sure you get enough tickets for a few rides. Safe, fun, and as fast or slow as you make it with the breaks! My 10 and 8 year old did it by themselves a few times. We rode with our 5 year old. Fantastic!

I wouldn’t say that this is a park with lots of things to do. HOWEVER, the alpine coaster is an absolute must! Nice views during the ride. The only problem we found was that the carts had a user controlled breaks, which some people used to the point of stopping on the track- most frustrating for the speed demons! We asked for the staff on the next time round to leave a big gap between the cart in front, due to being stopped on the previous go, and they were more than willing to oblige by leaving a huge gap and gave us another free run afterwards. We had two runs without using the breaks at all, so much fun and laughter! Also, post Luge, we had the most delicious sandwich from the cafe/ sandwich bar there!

. . e se muito longe...
Obrigado
