We got tickets in advance which helped with the lines. The museum is too overwhelming. We followed the Louvre website suggested itinerary for seeing the highlights. That took about an hour and a half and when we were finished we went on our own to the Crown Jewels exhibit. It is exciting to see famous works of art. It is exhausting to maneuver around the immense palace.

Well it is the classic museum. Buy your tickets on line before you arrive for a timed arrival and little wait in lines. And plan you visit for what you want to see. It is an immense museum.

This is a spectacular place to visit at least once in your life. I would suggest that you book your tickets in advance at least 1 or 2 months
prior to visiting. I would suggest a guided tour the first time so you can see some of the more popular pieces and then stay afterwards to walk around and enjoy all of the other artwork such has paintings, sculptures and even Napoleon 3rd apartments!! 1/2 day will give you a quick glimpse of this beautiful place however much more time is needed to see everything but it is a MUST see while in Paris!

Wow we were totally amazed at this world class museum, from the entry the welcome and where one leave coats. The detail was stunning. Now on to the display. Only spent a couple of hours with a guide which os essential for us to truly understand the exhibits.we could have spent a few days here and we would not have seen enough... top class...

We had booked for the Da Vinci exhibition. There was no clear signage where to go and few staff to ask. The audioguide was a nightmare to use and not comprehensive. The crowds generally made the experience unpleasant. would hate to visit in peak season.

We made the mistake of not pre-buying a ticket so decided to chance the queues in the afternoon. Not a good idea! It was hot and there was no shade, our queue didn’t move for 30 minutes. Then once through security, we had to join another queue to buy a ticket (under 26 are free).
It was busy, crowded and very noisy. We saw the Mona Lisa which is by itself in a large room and the crowd is efficiently herded past it.
Advice: Prebook tickets and go in the morning.

It seems to strange that someone might visit Paris but never visit Le Louvre. We did and enjoyed our time there. The place is vast and we saw maybe a third of it and were tired. It is pointless coming here and not seeing the Mona Lisa. Categories of art are together to ensure the visitor can see what they prefer.

There are only 2 shops left open in this place which is supposed to be filled with high end antiques and jewelry shops according to their website. A disgrace when you have to pay 1€ per 12 minutes of parking and 1€ per person to use the lavatories.

It's actually very nice to see the art in there but to be honest with you it's always crowded and at the entrance and people are queuing. Buy the ticket in advance to get to the fast lane

I have never known such frustration using an audio guide. They only offer 2 pre planned routes. One is for only three masterpieces and the other is an Egyptian family tour.
It is supposed to be interactive in fact it is prohibitive to see any of the pieces of art. I walked out of there sad and frustrated.
GET A GUIDE!! I am so sorry that I didn't . I have been looking forward to going to the Louvre for years.
