The Guild Ale House
One of the best micro-Bars in Preston and beyond, with a great range of changing real ales, comfy friendly communal seating areas, a live music lounge upstairs, and a beer garden too. The bar can get very crowded. Lots of pub and beer literature to read during your visit.

A very good selection of beers on tap and decent feel to the premises. Bar staff friendly and the beers tasted as they should. Comfortable and enjoyable couple of libations here, Definitely would return.

This is a friendly place. Joining some colleagues for a get together we decided to visit some of Preston’s highest rated pubs. Prices are very reasonable and the selection of ales and lagers is really varied. Despite being busy the service is good.
There is a nice seated area upstairs overlooking the town hall. The seats are comfortable club man types. Next time I’m in Preston on business I’ll pay this place a visit.

Brilliant selection of ales and beverages! As a cider drinker I was most impressed that my favourite mango cider was available for me. We sat upstairs in a relaxing large room with proper comfy chairs. Our mate even plinked on the guitar for us which had been left available for anyone to play. Great place to visit and defo on the list for everytime we are in town.

Excellent Ale house in the centre of Preston. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Wonderful selection and Ale’s. Both cask, draft and bottled Ales. Highly recommend.

Converted from a former charity shop, this was Preston’s first micro pub when it opened in 2016, but it is definitely smarter than most of its genre and is more mini than micro as there is a fair bit of area internally, with a decent amount of space in the main bar, a smaller room leading off this with some upholstered bench seating, which was slightly more private and then the long staircase leading to a first floor club room with high backed chairs, and a more traditional feel.
The bar counter supports six real ale pumps and for my visit these were dispensing a good range of ales from mainly smaller Northern breweries In the shape of Common Chord and Tiller Pin from the Wishbone Brewery, Fierce & Noble Brizzle Pale , Black Lodge Start the Parade, Neepsend Blonde, Only with Love Yacht Rock and Wilde Child Glutinous Maximus Stout and I was very pleased to be reacquainted with the Wilde Child Glutinous Maximus Sticky Toffee Milk Stout that I had enjoyed in the Moorbrook the evening before and it was absolutely gorgeous in here, and also at a very pleasing £3.40 a pint for my London wallet.
The bar also has a ten tap wall but these were dispensing standard continental lagers rather than modern high abv craft beer options available in 1/3 measures at eye watering pricing points.
This is a very good example of the modern ale house and although I prefer a more traditional pub I fully appreciated the Guild Ale House and thoroughly enjoyed my visit here.

If you are visiting Preston this pub is a must do for beer lovers. There is a great range of British real ales and continental beers. We both enjoyed a draught Zot beautifully served in the correct glass.

Lovely staff, lovely ales and a lovely atmosphere in this micro pub....defo one of the best pubs we called in when visiting the town..... get this on your route....

Friendly pub with a great selection of beers and a great selection of styles of beer. A compact little pub and understandably very popular busy and that adds to the atmosphere. Nice and unfussy and pleasant staff and clientele.

Awesome micro in the middle of Preston. Great choice of beer at a great price. Well worth a visit if you’re in town.
