You get a feeling of a pub from yesteryear when you visit the Royal Oak - which isn't a criticism but rather part of it's overall charm. Pleasant efficient bar staff seemingly always on duty and providing a broad range of drinks in particular draft beers - provided at a reasonable price. Comfortable lounge area. Indeed the only problem appears to be parking but hey lots of opportunity for such on not too distant local roads.

A really beautiful listed building. Going inside is like a time warp, I love the vintage set up, traditional vault, lounge and pool room. There is a mix of artwork and photographs that span generations. The best place in eccles to have a quiet beer of an afternoon if you're off work, or after work if you've had a tough day. Really friendly landlord. This pub has character in abundance.
