I got really sceptical when it comes to spending money for a massage as in many places the workers do not really seem motivated to give you a massage of good quality. But I read all the good reviews for Halo Lombok and as it was cheap I could convince my boyfriend for a try and it was soo good! We would have come back if we had time!!

My mother and I were looking for a place to get a mani/pedi in Sengiggi and decided to try Halo Lombok Spa as it was close to our hotel, seemed alright and was pretty cheap. While the place was clean and the staff were friendly, the mani/pedi felt very rushed, as if they didn’t realise we were there for the experience & to feel pampered, as opposed to simply wanting to have our nails painted. They did some nice foot/hand massaging and trimmed/shaped our nails, however missed a number of steps you usually would expect the to do (eg. pushing down the cuticles etc.). My mother’s manicurist in particular seemed to be in a real hurry, and only put on one coat of nail polish on her nails (she only wanted clear nail polish, but another coat or two would’ve been appreciated). They also had a very small selection of nail polishes, and the ones they did have were gloopy/dried out. Finally, the experience could’ve been made to feel far more relaxing with some gentle music, calming decor and a general increased attention to detail (eg ensuring that staff members’ phones are turned off so that they don’t ring during the treatment, as one did 3 times during our visit)... The hot pink walls also made it a little hard to relax. In saying that, it was a largely pleasant experience and we were willing to overlook some of the issues considering it only cost 12,000 IDR for each of our mani/pedis. All of the street front spas in Sengiggi seem to offer basically the same quality of service at slightly different prices... I would recommend going to a spa on one of the Gilis near Sengiggi (we went to Gili Air & they looked better here) or to one in a resort, instead :).
