good adventure seeing the inside of the jail. Very informative staff really good at explaining everything. In saying that do not miss the museum across the road it is amazing.

Great little gem after doing the Kingston Penitentiary especially after hearing some of the stories. Located directly across from the front entrance, it is a quick little tour. Definitely was amazed at all the contraband and how prisoners were originally treated.

Interesting , we enjoyed it more our tour of the penitentiary across the street Interesting artifacts. Donation is reasonable

This was very interesting to see. There is a five dollar donation requested that can be paid via credit card. Across the street is the penitentiary that provides guided tours.

We parked at the lot across the street but it doesn't matter which if you're visiting the old Warden's home (this place) or the actual penitentiary tour. I felt the displays were good, it's by donation only so drop in some money please for maintenance. It added to the story we heard and saw in the penn tour afterward. The docent was quite nice and it wasn't crowded...important because the rooms are small for museum items. It was well done.

Very informative, and the detailed explanations were very beneficial. They had a lot to see in each room and/or section. Definitely gave you a feel for what you would not desire as part of your life. Today, criminals have it better than civilians. Sad!

This is an excellent museum. Would definitely recommend going. Entrance fee is by donation. The museum is very informative.

We were too early for our visit to the Kingston prison and they recommended the museum. It was a perfect 30 minute visit. It gave a good introduction to prison life and how things changed within the years.

Very informative and well laid out. Staff are there to answer any questions and talk about the displays. This is a must do before the KP tour. Gives you a good idea about the institution prior to going on tour

This turned out to be the highlight of our visit! Our tour guide Shay was informative and sprinkled interesting anecdotes with humour along the way. They kept us all moving and was conscient of the family with the baby stroller too. Along the way there were several retired staff who really brought the tour alive for us as we learned about life in the Pen. We sat/stood closed to the speakers so we could hear well in this echoey setting. If mobility is a concern, there was a lot of walking for 1.5 hours for the Standard Tour and there was a mixture of sitting and standing along the way. Parking is free and onsite.

The museum is free. The Kingston pen fee is online. You should book though because it’s always booked up.

The website said not suitable for children. My daughter is 12 is she too young to see inside the prison? Is the information and tour provided inappropriate for pre teens? I wasn't sure if they were talking about toddlers or babies. Thank you
