Mainly flat walk, typical forest trail but bit of a tricky trail towards the end of you're not steady on your feet. Recommend decent footwear as it's very muddy in places when we visited (October) . About 30 minutes from the car to the falls, stopping to take photos on the way.
It's a beautiful walk this time of year, with the leaves turning.

Plenty of parking in the public car parks or at the beach when I was there, Friday morning during term time. Easy, peaceful walk with lovely views. Dipped in both waterfalls as had sea shoes packed, would say it’s slippery and rocky in the pools.

Visited here a while back (we come here quite frequently), we love making like family action films here - James bond/robin hood stuff - Beautiful scenery! Absolutely love it

We've been up in this area on many occasions, mainly to visit Chanonry Point, but have never walked up to the falls. This time, whilst travelling along the NC500, we decided to stop off and have a stroll up to the falls, and what a beautiful, peaceful walk it was. Definitely a must do if you are in the area, but I can imagine the path can get quite muddy and treacherous on a rainy day. Luckily we had the perfect weather for the walk up and back from the car park, so it was just an easy going stroll in lovely countryside.

Beautiful secluded waterfall, pouring into a rock pool. The woodland surroundings are peaceful and gorgeous. The path is rocky and steep in places with some drops so is not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs. There is a small tree stump near the top falls where you can push in a coin and pay the fairies to keep the water clear, (a plea from the reserve managers please don't push coins into any other tree it causes damage and pollution) Well worth the walk to see the falls and although the path is hard going it is easy to follow.

A magical walk from start to finish. Wasn’t too busy so got great pictures. Peaceful and very enchanting. Definitely recommend.

Pretty walk with a couple of waterfalls. It was warm when we visited and a couple of children were having fun splashing about in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. I felt like joining them! Wee bit tricky if you have mobility problems. We combined this with a visit to the small museum in the village which was very interesting finishing off with lunch at the Beach Cafe.

We recently went to see the fall, and were not disappointed. The walk up to the falls was not easy in places but the end result was well with the effort. Would recommend wearing proper walking boots, especially in places the ground was muddy.

Not the largest of waterfalls but very pretty and worth the walk. Easy parking and if you continue back along the stream past the car park there is a nice cafe right on the beach.

Lovely walk from Fortrose to the falls and back. From the Car park in Rosemarkie, it takes about 20 minutes, if you are disabled forget it, it would be very difficult to get a wheel chair to the Falls, my wife and I are in our 50's and we walked it easy enough though there was a bit of scrambling. There is a grey wagtail nest by the side of the top falls, we watched the male and female birds catching insects and taking them back to the nest, we also saw a heron fishing and a song thrush.

Hello,
I am going to be visiting Inverness in March - not sure how I should expect the weather to be (I understand it can range quite a bit). I'd appreciate input on this; can this be done if it's snowy vs dry?

Hi,yes the walk can be done but it would be slippery. I would get some really good waterproof boots. It was dry when I went and some places near the water was a bit squishy.

Is it suitable for a off road Pram/buggy or would it be too difficult? TIA

The only wheels allowed would be a stroller or walker with wheels but, even those would be VERY difficult to push and in some places DANGEROUS as there is very little space to walk! I would place baby in in a backpack carrier and be careful as there are branches that can hit in the face and muddy places! If is rained very recently I would postpone the walk if you can wait for a dry spell! I was there in July it had been dry for a while and there places that were treacherous! My sister had a walking stick and needed help in places! Watch your step and enjoy the serenity! The Fairy Pools on Skye is quite the hike as well!
