Love this place and visit every year. Hillside do a fantastic job of saving and looking after these beautiful animals. Such a peaceful place with loads of places to sit, relax and watch the animals go about their business. Love having a look around the bric-a-brack and picking up a bargain or two! The cafe and shop are both excellent. A brilliant place to spend a few hours. Entrance is free which allows us as a family to have a good spend in the cafe and shop and also to make a donation or adopt an animal.

Fantastic day out. What wonderful work they are doing!
Dog friendly, facilities were spotless, and vegan cafe. Purchased lots of goodies from the gift shop. Keep up the good work, we will be back!

Lots of animals and free to enter, please leave them a lovely donation to help them continue their great work. Some of the information displayed can be quite upsetting, but the younger visitors seemed not to notice or understand it, and for the older ones it’s important for them to understand why the sanctuary exists in the first place! We had a big rummage around the second hand books and made some purchases, but of course the animals are the highlight. There were many more than we were expecting, favourites for us were the pigs, the birds, the rabbits and Teeny and Tiny the pony and her baby foal, just beautiful. Please visit and support their amazing work, great for 1-2 hours.

Free entry this year due to Covid restricting things. But I honestly don't know how they afford to do this. Lots of animals to see, nice gift shop alongside bric a brac selling with a gorgeous kitty cat at the till. Lots of stroking horses/ the cat/ and handwashing points and despite the horrid weather when we came, kids loved it! We bought some 'gifted food" for the animals in the gift shop so we felt like we gave something back. Lovely place.

Fantastic work by this animal sanctuary and the staff. We spent a couple of hours at the sanctuary. There is a shop and cafe on site too, as well as bric a brac sales.

Absolutely loads of animals to interact with at Hillside. Donation meant you save up to at least £10. Lovely gift shop too. Perfect for 5 year old who loves horses.

This is a charity and not Disneyland. I was pleased to see the staff doing chores and looking after the animals rather than giving out balloons. Of course some of the animals don't look great - it's a rescue centre!!!!! I had a lovely day. I have been there a few times. It's nice to see people trying to make a difference and not just interested in consumerism and making money. The cafe is wonderful and all vegan.

A lovely day out I would truly recommend. Staff were professional, friendly and polite. The range of animals was brilliant and all animals were well looked after. So lucky to see such lovely Shire horses. All areas were clean and well maintained (although I'm sure they would appreciate more donations for all their hard work). I felt safe with all Covid safety measures in place. I had a fantastic visit during what has been a difficult year. Thank you Hillside!

This was the second time I have visited here .An enjoyable visit .Very polite Covid aware staff .Nice to be in the open space , social distances are in place . Animals well looked after .Only thing was the animals approached you and you cannot not touch them due to the current circumstances which i understand but the animals may not . Very nice relaxing time . Please support this wonderful place and the lovely animals that have been given a new life ,better life they deserve.

Open Day before lock down. Kennels are shocking. Yard area shocking. Toilets disgusting. I saw rats. Why haven't RSPCA got involved?

There is a separate dog rescue- it's not at the shore horse sanctuary but they did have a notice board up of the dogs - maybe about 15 dogs? I'm not sure. I know their website has more about the dogs they have.

This is a center that is always pleading poverty its not a rescue center as such but a limited company business living off peoples donations
