Organized our trip with Frans over email and WhatsApp and he was very detailed and answered every question promptly. We gave him a list of places we wanted to visit and things we wanted to do, and he planned an itinerary for us.
Tugi was the driver and guide assigned to us over 4 days. He was punctual, patient, friendly and very attentive. We highly recommend Tugi 😀 he made our trip so much more enjoyable!

Was recommended by a friend to visit Jogjakarta through Frans. We had him for two days out of 6 days as he was not well. But he make up for it by making sure that we were well taken care of. He and his driver were very punctual for their pickups. Very safe Drivers and made sure we were safe and comfortable. Frans recommended wonderful Jogjakarta food to us and they were very reasonable priced.
You will enjoy your trip with him.

Travelled to Jogja and Mt Sikunir in Apr 2019 with Tugi as our driver, who was reliable, patient, warm, engaging and attentive throughout our 5-day trip. Despite our early day trips, we could always trust his driving skills and take naps during the car journeys. We had no issues conversing with Tugi in English and were lucky to have engaged De Jong and have Tugi as our driver for the trip. Tugi was always there to answer our questions. Through him, we managed to experience the warmth of Jogja and the locals.
Booked this tour through Frans who has been responsive since our initial enquiry and honest in his quotation/price package.

I booked 4 days in Yogyakarta, with de Jong (Frans Henry) as our driver/guide for the whole stay. Frans communicated excellently over email, suggesting things for us to do, and helping me land on the perfect itinerary. Once we arrived, he was so flexible with us - one of our bags didn't make it to Yogya, so our first unplanned activity became finding a mall for replacement items. He continued to help us maximize our time and experience by suggesting places to eat and additional things we might want to see/do based on our reactions. Once we expressed interest in trying Javanese food, Frans took us to several really fantastic local restaurants, and with some constraints from us, ordered us delicious (reasonably priced) feasts. We ate so, so well on this trip. I should also note that we had our kids (ages 3 & 5) with us, and Frans was not only wonderful to us, but to them.
This was the first "city/culture" trip we've taken with the kids, and we all had a fantastic time. I can't thank, nor recommend Frans enough. This trip will be one we remember for a very long time, and will be a hard one to beat.

Frans was very helpful and responsive in arranging the tour for us. Although he was a guide for a day, and the rest of the days were subsequently taken over by his colleague, he ensured that everything was smoothly planned for us. Frans suggested places that we could eat at and his recommendations were pretty excellent. He really made an impression on us even though we only spent time with him for a day. If you are planning to come to Jogja in advance, do try to book him. Both Frans and his colleague are skillful drivers.

If you want a custom experience with a very personable and passionate guide, you must go with De Jong Asia. I had the pleasure of meeting Frans and suffice to say, he made my stay in Yogya one for the books.
I booked with another app which DJA also services. Frans got in touch with me early on to make adjustments to my activities’ schedule and communicated with me all throughout my trip, ensuring I got to Yogya safely and briefed me about the activities. He also sent helpful reminders such as bringing an extra set of clothes for Jomblang cave and acted as liaison between me and the driver, Nono.
Frans was very friendly, helpful, flexible, and considerate. His passion for Yogya also rubbed off on me and he was very thorough and deliberate in his recommendations especially in the food places we tried. I felt like a local when he took me off the beaten path and took me around the city for meals, snacks, coffee, and an alun-alun ride (neon pedal car – this shouldn’t be missed!). He explained everything we ate, shared info on the city, and even helped me get another sim card after we confronted a seller who scammed me on my first day in the city. I especially liked the fact that we’re both crazy about food and he was able to take me to places I wouldn’t have discovered or gone in the first place if it were just me navigating the town.
For a bit of shopping for stuff to take back home, we went to Malioboro and zeroed in on Hamaz Batik. While it’s a little pricier, it’s complete, has AC and is a one-stop shop for all pasalubong/gift shopping. Frans was very patient waiting for me to finish shopping and didn’t balk when I went back to the shop twice to buy a bit more. He gave recommendations and was just a great guide overall.
For a solo traveler, Frans was heaven sent; I felt taken care of and safe, and having a guide to go around the city with me made the trip hassle-free, memorable, and ultimately relaxing. It felt like hanging out with a long-lost friend and if it weren’t for him, my trip wouldn’t have been as memorable and fun. I wish to go back (still have to take the challenge of walking blindfolded between two banyan trees at Alun-alun Selatan!) and if I do, I’ll make sure to get in touch with De Jong Asia again.

We recently used Mr Frans Henry for 5 days as our guide to visit the incredible sights around Yogyakarta. He was exceptionally knowledgeable & went out of his way to make our experience of visiting the city and adjoining countryside immensely enjoyable. I recommend Frans 100% & will certainly use him next year when we plan to return to explore Mt Bromo & other amazing sights in Java.

Used De Jong services for various movements in JOG including airport transfer (two cars) and a day trip out to Borobudur and Prambanan. Saw reviews on TA. Was aranged at the last minute, but Frans was quick to arrange and sort out what was needed via email, even late at night after his day jobs. Lilit was our driver and he was great - polite, good english, and made some little detours to help us see and get what the group was interested in. Much recommended as a service (De Jong and Frans) and driver (Lilit). ps. ride apps are probably much cheaper point to point, but for a whole day out, definitely go with a driver!

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Indonesia in which we spent a couple of days in Yogyakarta and the surrounding areas. For one of these days, we wanted to visit Borobodur, Mt. Merapi, Ullen Sentalu Museum, and Prambanan. We ended up using Frans Henry with De Jong Asia Holidays to facilitate this and I couldn't recommend him more.
His price was very reasonable (600,000 IDR or approx $44 USD) for 12 hours of driving including sunrise tour of Borobodur (which cost a little extra). We started the day at 3:30am and he helped us get a guide for Borobodur. He also took us to a great company for a 4WD jeep tour to Mt. Merapi. Frans took us a little off the beaten path for a restaurant that was "not touristy" that the locals ate at. Since the menu was not in English, he helped us order which was very much appreciated. We then went to Prambanan and another smaller temple near Yogyakarta.
Frans was always patient and never rushed us. He gave us some great background info on the area, and we enjoyed conversing with him and getting to know him. He also gave us tips for our upcoming cities such as Ubud in Bali. His English is very good- he spent some time in Australia a few years back.
We had started the trip with enough cash to pay Frans, but then he offered to take care of our entrance fees for the attractions as well and asked if we could stop at an ATM to pay him for these at the end of the day. We ended up having a lot of difficulty finding an ATM that would work (apparently this is an issue in Indonesia with U.S. debit cards). We went back to our hotel a couple times to use the WiFi to call our banks, but still had no luck. Frans also let us use his personal cell phone to make a call. It was a stressful situation but made better by Frans' patience and kindness, although we felt terrible keeping him late after a long day. We ended up deciding that he would give us a ride to the airport the next morning and we would work on getting the cash to pay him. He trusted us to do to this which was also appreciated.
You won't regret going with De Jong Asia Holidays. We wish Frans well in his endeavors.

our family of four recently used de jong asia holidays to tour the yogyakarta-area sites. Frans was a first-class planner, offering a wide range of options at competitive prices. He was courteous and prompt in his communication and his driver, `ivan,' was a lovely man. i recommend this agency wholeheartedly!
