Worth a visit.

Have an hour or so to spare, want to keep the kids amused, this is a great place to visit, things to see and do with great views, as you would expect, of the surrounding countryside.

Lots of castle

A fairly well preserved castle with plenty to wander around for an hour. The information signs are more aimed at kids, but not annoyingly so. Was worth the stop.

Lovely castle and grounds

Well worth the visit. Need to pre book in Covid times but we did this on arrival via phone, and able to get straight in as not too busy. Lovely example of middle ages extravagance and easy to imagine Elizabethans lording it up! Great value at £6.50 and there are discounts available if you are Eng Heritage member.

Great views with lots of interesting features

Enjoyable couple of hours exploring the castle and all the different layers of its history. Well set up for an outing while maintaining social distancing. Felt like a nearly normal day out! Staff were all welcoming and friendly.

Stunning views

Peaceful area. You have to book tickets on line due to restrictions. Good explanations of area and stunning views of areas around. Mainly outdoors. It has a small shop and toilets. Great for photos. While we were there a young family were visiting with a young lad dressed up as a knight for which this castle was the perfect backdrop with traditional most.

Friendly and welcoming staff and such a well presented site Guide book is excellent - but there are excellent information boards around the site Plus - stunning views

If, like me, you didn’t realise that the castle closes for lunch, you get a full price ticket for entry 11.30- 12.00 and you get kicked out at 1 and are not allowed in again. This was very unexpected! Do all Cadw places do this? We had travelled from Somerset. It is a stunning castle and I wish we could have wandered more slowly. Do visit but plan better than I did!!

Superb castle

Hadn’t visited since I was a kid and was so impressed with this castle. Much more to it than other castles - areas to explore, great information on the walls, and such a fascinating history. Brilliant day out for families, couples - anyone really. A couple of hours should be more than enough and the cafe and gift shop are both great too.

Wandering for the day

So I woke up and felt like a little wander... I had tried to visit Raglan twice before on the way bvl rom camping trips but I was always to late as the close at 5.. so I made a special effort today. I'm so glad I did... I had the entire castle to myself.. it had been raining but that went off as i arrived. The staff were friendly and it's also one of the cheapest castles I've been to aswel. I got a lovely postcard to remind me of its beauty!

Beautiful castle

Visited on a good dry day. Raglan Castle is another of the Welsh castles around the border with England and in better condition than most. Not cheap entry but a good 1 to 2 hour visit. Although its in ruins, there is still a lot standing over a wide area. Some of the ruins have a bit of height to them. Lots of interesting notice boards about the castle around the ruins. Shame the great tower wasn't open. Not sure if its a long term closure. Shop at the entrance. Cafe just outside the grounds but not visited. Toilets on site. Not a wet day visit The ground is uneven so access is limited a bit. Excellent visit.
